Hi everyone! Unfortunately my stepfather passed away and then I forgot all about eating healthy while I was staying with family and used it as an excuse. Back on here now, at my original weight again but this time I'm committed!
My question is: how often do you recommend weighing yourself, and would you recommend weighing yourself in the morning or evening?
Thank you so much for your help!

I'm sorry to hear about your stepfather, especially at this difficult time. It's good to hear you're able to give some attention to your health and wellbeing now
It's a personal thing whether you choose to weigh daily or weekly or less frequently. For consistency, I'd say weigh first thing in the morning, after the loo and undressed.
I am so sorry to hear that your stepfather passed away. When we lose someone that we love our emotions are all over the place, and the last thing that we think about is healthy eating and trying to lose weight.
I weigh myself once a week on a monday and i always weigh myself in the morning, as we are a little bit heavier by the evening, not by much, but i find this is better for me.
Other people here probably weigh at a different time of day and not once a week like myself. It is whatever suits you and is best for you.
I would recommend weighing in the morning, especially with biometric scales as there is less variation with fluids after a good nights sleep. You also tend to be at your lowest weight for the day (every little helps). I wouldn't recommend more frequently than once a day and some people only weigh themselves weekly or even monthly. I personally prefer daily but pay more attention to the weekly trend. I find that I can easily fluctuate by up to 2 kg a day for no apparent reason so something like a 5 day rolling average gives me a better idea of trends. Of course, weight is not the best beast measurement, waist, hips, biceps, thighs, chest give better indicators of overall health but it's tricky to get accurate measurements on your own. Percent body fat is probably the easiest measurement to take if you own biometric scales and trust their readings.
I weigh myself once a week. I find if I step on scales every day I get a bit obsessed! So, once a week, first thing in the morning and before I get dressed or eat.
When you are grieving you just have to survive. So don't be hard on yourself. I very much like the sound of your commitment and determination
