That's a tough one Jonezy86 πŸ˜• I weighed everyday whilst I was losing as my weight varies so much day to day, and I would plot the average. Now I'm maintaining I'm trying to weigh less often but it's tough!

Yeah it stresses me a bit I like to do it in same clothes same time each week but worry if I should keep an eye throughout the week and get a bit OCD about it

Hi joney86 πŸ˜ƒ

I used to weigh myself everyday, because I used to workout on the wii and that's what it tells you to do.

Sadly I found it more rewarding when I was losing weight to do it every Friday at 7.30am I saw more of a change in myself just doing it once a week. I think I started to expect too much doing it daily.

Now I don't weigh myself at all, I'm struggling at the moment and I've no idea why so I just let my clotheshorse the talking. At the end of the day it's just a number on the scales. How we feel in our clothes seems much more important to me. So I've decided to opt for measuring myself once a month.

That way of I do lose inches I'll be so much more proud of myself losing more over a month that stabilising my weight over 24 hours. 🌼

Good luck in your journey πŸ‘ xx

Yeah that seems the logical approach I don't want my jeans digging in after see pics of my double chin and tree trunk legs I just want to be comfortable when people take photos not completely embarrassed and I tagging myself on fb

Hi Jonezy86

One of my friends tells me I shouldn't, I also weigh most days. After years of having no control over my weight, I'm enjoying watching the numbers reduce, for me, it's a real incentive to keep going. I just wish I had a better set of scales at home. I use my Slimming World weigh ins to officially log my weight loss as their scales will be more accurate than mine... they don't fall apart when moved either πŸ˜‚

Good luck!

I really enjoyed slimming world now living in a new area and lack confidence in meeting people so have avoided going it's not because of my weight I just lack general confidence so I think getting a grip on my diet will improve my self esteem

I should get Salter scales, they are dual weight in lb oz and kg. Much more accurate

I too, weigh every day

I think I may be pressuring myself doing it but equally it allows me to see the results of my disaster binge days

Who's to say what's right or wrong? Do whatever works for you, personally I like to keep an eye on the scales that way I can learn what meals have a more or less impact on my weight. Whatever you're happy doing is the right thing to do.

I think I need to set smaller goals so that I can see the improvement rather than think I need to shift minimum 30kg as that's a scary number

I've decided to give myself a little gift for each 7lbs lost.

Not yet it's on my todo list which with 3 kids and a business to run never gets any shorter :(

I also have some big numbers to lose but prefer to set smaller half stone mini goals. Not worrying about the total amount I need to lose until I get closer. They were talking about non-food rewards at Slimming World last week, I haven't really bothered so far as I've had a few big expenses lately but I think for me, it might involve a trip to a craft shop.

Hi Jonezy86 . I had to stop using scales all together after jumping on and off them several times a day and causing an unhealthy obsession.

I revisited the scales after finding this forum to help me loose the weight that started to creep on and was shocked at what I saw!

I have found that even weighing in once a week actually deflates me as the loss is so little and I don't want to obsess over every ounce. I prefer to weigh every 3 weeks as it shows a proper sustainable difference on the scale. I tend to lose 4lbs every 3 weeks. I use a tape measure to keep an eye on my waist too as the scale isn't everything :)

Good luck :)

I think every day is a bit much.i weigh every sunday in my local boots.its something to look forward to or not lol sometimes you might stay the same so i measured at begi ning and if this happens i measure again and usually fine you lost in cms instead. I suppose its whats suits you best.its no right or wrong way.

You should do what feels right to you - there's no right or wrong answers.

I weigh myself every day just to kind of keep tabs on myself and start the day with a reminder of what I weigh and what my goals are. But I have Tuesdays for my 'official' weigh day and that's the weight I plot on my various graphs.

For the first few months of losing weight I was a bit obsessed about it, and also worried about whether weighing every day was okay. Now I don't care, because I can see that I have done what worked for me, and also come to realise that there are many many ways to reach our goals.

Best of luck

Hi @joney86, I weigh everyday as I use my Wii fit to exercise but I only 'count' the weight on Monday morning.

Maybe you could weigh twice a week, not as long to see results but without the stress of daily weigh ins?

Good luck :)

I am going to say no that is a healthy to do that. You could be retaining fluids that day. Or needing to poop. Or other things. I would just weigh once a week. First thing in the morning And if you are watching scales that closely and you get on them and it is not the numbers you want to now you could go and pig out and really miss up the numbers.
