So, back again and hopefully, no not hopefully, definitely, for good. I am looking forward to getting back on it, in this surreal new normal at school. 1 mile run this morning, body project video this evening and a walk after dinner - beef chilli with cauliflower rice! Hope you are all staying stronger than I did.
Well done Sean it would be so easy to just say oh I’ve been off it too long now and not be able to face having to start reining things in again. I really admire your fortitude
The thing is you’ve done it before again and again. The running for cancer is a brilliant idea. I’m glad you have your Mrs on your side as you can support each other.
I think recognising the health benefits of not carrying too much weight is a real catalyst. Feeling confident about how you look and how your clothes feel is great. Hearing compliments from friends And family is a source of encouragement.
In my opinion however the long term health benefits far outweigh the other two. The strain on your limbs heart back knees threat of diabetes and the list goes on.
I’m down from 14.13 to 13.3 now Id like to settle at 12 stone if I can get there. Really pushed it on a bike ride today and no alcohol for the last couple of days.
The real test will be at the weekend we are doing two gigs one Saturday one Sunday. Must resist drinking which usually accompanies our performances.
I think trying to lose weight is always going to be a series of stop starts, and as long as you keep picking yourself up you'll always win.
The problem is, is that i don't want to yoyo, so I need to move to more consistency and to improve my overall health and see it as a a lifestyle change rather than a diet. I can eat the things I want, but if there is a healthier alternative, go for that.
Getting back on the exercise wagon was hard, but thoroughly enjoyable, and I hope your bike ride was too. It's great to see how much you've lost and how you're heading towards your goal weight. I admire you for your fortitude and dedication. But to stop drinking before a concert...wow. I sincerely hope you manage to do it! I have also stopped drinking and intend to only drink when the kids are away, so every two weeks.
Good luck with your performances and good luck on your journey. Oh, and thanks for your continued support.
That’s it just pee it off Sean I owed another pound last night after a big bike ride yesterday weigh in tomorrow Fingers crossed it’s not gone back on ! 👍🏽
Eh up Sean hope your first week back has gone ok. I remember always feeling knackered every night on my first week back.
Yeah I stuck at 13.2 for yesterday's weigh in.
I had breakfast and then went out in the afternoon for a challenging ride.Breakfast oats nuts and seeds soaked in almond milk. I didn't bother with lunch. I cycled 3 hrs. I had a clean fast drinking just water. I did feel hungry but kept busy and drank plenty of water. Came back and did about an hour and half playing the fiddle. I'm doing a gig Saturday and Sunday and we haven't played since March. I went to the pub with friends for a meal. Everyone had a couple of glasses of wine I had a large Diet Coke steak and salad .
The scales read another pound off this morning. When I drink alcohol my weight stays the same or creeps up. This weekend will be a challenge one some of a our payment is free drinks. I'm determined to leave it alone though. My gigging partner is about 25 yrs younger than me and is starting to get a bit of a belly with the beer. That's my ammo if he starts trying to get me to have a pint !
Three healthy low carb meals for me today and gentle bike ride along the sea front to pick up some bits.
Stick with it Sean I think it'll need more resolve now you're back at work. You have done remarkably well.
You're doing brilliantly with all aspects of your journey, inspirational; especially the alcohol. Ive also had no alcohol since Sunday last week, so I'm quite chuffed. Well done on thw huge amount of exercises you're doing also.
Meals also seem to be going well with the low carb aspect. Wish I could cut out the carbs but I like them soooo much! 🤣🤣
Yes, this week has been uber stressful and I have never been this knackered! Hopefully, once I'm in the swing of things, I'll feel better!
Again, well done on everything! Keep going and keep that motivation going! You've got this!
Thanks Sean I had lost another pound this morning. I have seven pounds to lose now to take me into the top of the statistical healthy BMI recommended on the NHS page but I'll keep going for a while so I am in the middle somewhere. I appreciate your encouragement.
