Tomorrow I am going to try an experiment. Hopefully this will lead me to never go back to eating anything and everything. I am determined.

Your virtual diary will be an interesting experiment 👍

Hi Sheperdess, I'm hoping that seeing my daily and weekly intake had I done it will motivate me not to!

that is certainly an interesting idea, I might have a go at that myself.

I think there is no doubt I gained weight by eating too much of everything, especially sugar laden things. Also there is no doubt that if I went back to my former eating habits I would regain all the weight I've lost plus more. This has happened numerous times over the years!!! In fact, this time, since I joined HU two years, ago has been the longest I have ever successfully changed my eating habits and managed to stick with it. This time I am determined it is for life :)

This week I am going to join you in writing down what I would have eaten (all those numerous biscuits at work for example, I never touch those now :) ) and see just how much it really is. Should be interesting :)

Good luck with your experiment :)

Hi Sunnygirl, firstly absolutely well done for eating healthily for two years! Wow! That is amazing! I'm looking forwards to the day I can say that too! Good luck with your own experiment!

well, that got off to an interesting start. Literally within half an hour I would have eaten 548 calories!! My daughter offered to share a large tub of cookie dough ice cream. I said no thank you to that, but in the past I certainly would have eaten half the tub quite cheerfully, I just checked and it is 548 Calories!!!!

Hahaha! Half an hour! It just shows how quickly you can gain weight. Feel good for 5 minutes and be down for days. Good job it wasn't for real!

Yes, absolutely 😉I think this is perfectly encapsulated by the phrase “a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips” 😂

Interesting idea - this could be quite motivating.

Hi Missdoubleyou, I'm hoping so!

If I were you, at the end of the week, take each day and make the required tweaks to get you within calories. You can decide what treats were worth it and what you were happy to leave.

I think that's a brilliant idea and very brave of you. Be really interesting too, to see what you might have eaten & drunk if you weren't determined to lose weight.

My mantra now tends to be 'you are what you eat' which I find quite helpful, especially as I piled on the weight knowing exactly what I was having and not caring.

Keep going and I expect you'll find you've lost more lbs this week.
