This is my first week, which I began by weighing in with the Wednesday Wobble Warriors, who made me feel very welcome, thank you!
I’ve been getting gradually more desperate over my steady but relentless weight gain. A couple of years back I was 8st12lbs, and loved dancing two or three times a week, working full time and generally getting on with life. Then I became ill with a NeuroEndocrineAutoimmune issue which completely floored me. It’s like a form of M.E./cfs. So I can’t dance, or do much of anything really. I’m prescribed Gabapentin for the neuropathy, which seems to make me constantly ravenous. I try to be “good” and eat a clean and healthy diet, but on the days when the pain is really bad and/or I’m just exhausted and can’t think straight, I end up munching on all manner of rubbish.
And then along came Covid..... and anxiety..... and comfort eating..... and now there’s only three outfits in my wardrobe that i can squeeze into..... if I’m not careful I won’t even be able to squeeze into the wardrobe itself!
I’d like to give and receive support and encouragement to others who are also struggling with their weight, and we can journey together. Hoping I’ve come to the right place.......... 🌻 x

Hi Amber, you've definitely come to the right place for mutual support during your weight loss and maintenance journey, as that's what this forum is all about.
I wonder if it may also be useful for you to join other forums where people have autoimmune problems? Here are a couple:
I have a cavanoma on my mid brainstem and it has bleed twice I was put on pregabalin which makes me want to eat which has made me gain weight too. I use to weigh 9st6lb but on Saturday I started my weight loss campaign lol and weighed in at 90kg and today I weighed in at 88.1kg so good luck hun x
Sorry to hear you’re in a similar situation, Letsrock66, and i’ll look out for you on the forum. We’ve both decided to do something about this now.... Your cavanoma sounds worrying, I hope it can be successfully treated and you don’t have to stay on pregabalin forever. You’ve made a fantastic start, well done!
Hi , its Low Carb High Fat (although I consider it more healthy fats, avocado, olives, f f mayo and greek yoghurt) if you Google Diet Doctor you can even do a free two week trial. The food is amazingly gorgeous, your cravings disappear and I'm very rarely hungry, I've gone from eating at least 5 times a day to once or twice x
Thank you Lytham I’ll have a look. The week before last I was on the thrive balance and sculpt tablets but after taking them for three days I spent most of the time on toilet and I even had an accident which wasn’t pleasant and made me feel awful. When my husband researched the balance tablets they had Senna leaves and some other laxative in them to so stopped taking them now I’m just eating healthy and cutting down on my calories and fat intake
I'm going to find out more details. I've a feeling it's pretty similar to how I eat when I'm on track and things are going well, but I'm keen to learn more x
Welcome Amber! I've been here for few weeks now and you are definitely in the right place! I can't fit in my half of my wardrobe but I'm determine to do it!
You are already on it, make the decision and being here is the right step. Good luck and read you around 😊
Many thanks! It’s inspiring to read of others successes and I think that will help me in the weeks and months to come. Good luck on your weight loss journey and i’ll Look out for you 😀
If I remember rightly it was initially designed to help epileptic children, I don't know about other neurological problems, but I have a brain tumour and it suits me perfectly x
