Hello and welcome back, maisie_2013 😊
I see you were here a few years ago. There will have been a lot of changes in the meantime but one thing is always the same: to get the most out of the forum, come here often (daily is best), join in activities, chat, ask questions and encourage others. It will all pay off for you.
You'll find all the information you need about the forum in our Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... A good place to start is by joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice - why not weigh yourself in the morning and join the Saturday Superstars? - and using the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.
Take your time exploring. This gives you a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true and, along with Pinned Posts, will show you how things work. I hope you'll become an active member and we will see you joining in around the forum 😊
PS the app doesn’t give access to all parts of the forum so we advise everyone to get rid of the app and log on to the full website using the browser on their phone
How heavy are you and your height , what is your BMI. When you say spiralling out of control what do you mean? Has there been external factors as well as internal?
I just joined a week or so ago and I think you will bump into lots of people who will help and support you even if very small changes.
For me , I can spiral when stressed , no sleep, no support. We are all human.
I hope you start to feel in control soon.
Hi maisie_2013 and welcome. You will find lots of help and encouragement here so just join in and share all of your ups and downs and you will get there. Good luck x
Hello Maisie xxx nice to meet you xx
If your username means you were here in 2013, you may have been trying the same ways of controlling weight as I was back then, For years, in fact decades, I'd been following advice from GP, Weightwatchers, Slimming World - believing the mantra of low fat food will help me control my weight (even took Orlistat at one time in my life, with nasty effects). When I joined here two years ago, desperate once again to lose the regained weight, I was pointed towards the work of Dr Robert Lustig and others. I learned about insulin responses to high carb food (sugar, bread, past, rice, potatoes) and best of all I realised that fat (butter, cream, nuts, avocado, salmon) was not the enemy. My previous go to diet food, the low fat bagel with baked beans was what was causing my weight to spiral. I read about LCHF, adapted to it like a duck to water, started enjoying real food again and best of all lost the weight and got my health back. Welcome back to a different world and I hope you have success with your weight loss too.
