Help !
It's not that long-winded! Hello Hidden , welcome to the forum. Someone from the Admin team will be along soon to point you in the right direction as to how to navigate this site. In the meantime, I would say you aren't eating enough, although that might sound counterintuitive, and eating enough of the right things to help weight loss. I'm a bit taller than you at 5'3", and close to the same age, but I ate around 1500 calories to lose weight over a year and now maintain at around 1600-1700. I steer clear of rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, or only have very small amounts. I eat butter, cream, whole milk yogurt, eggs, meat, fish and loads of fruit and vegetables, nothing with the words "low fat" and nothing refined, no ready meals etc. If you have a minute, have a look at the Daily Diary to see what other people are eating to lose weight. Wishing you luck, you will get the help you need here.
Hello and welcome, Fedupoldie 😊
That's not a long profile; you're not half as long-winded as me
I agree with Trimmerteacher that you're not eating enough: no wonder you're fed up! And you may not be making the best choices of what to eat.
If you're working on the "eat less, move more" guidance, that will not help you. Understanding about the hormones that affect weight loss/gain is far more important than calories. Here's a good explanation psychologytoday.com/us/blog...
You'll find all the information you need about the forum in our Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... including a Welcome message, the Daily Diary and the current weigh in: a good place to start is by joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice, and using the Daily Diary, where members share their meal plans.
Take your time exploring. This gives you a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true and, along with Pinned Posts, will show you how things work. I hope you'll become an active member and we will see you joining in around the forum 😊
PS the app doesn’t give access to all parts of the forum so we advise everyone to get rid of the app and log on to the full website using the browser on their phone
I agree with Hidden 's recommendations. From my experience, adjusting 'what' you eat seems much more effective than simply reducing calories irrespective of what they are (all calories are not the same).
Would you like to join today's weigh in? Its a great way to meet people. Here's the link healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh.... Hope to see you there.
Thank you for your reply . My weight problem began 5 yrs ago when I gave up full time work . Then 3 yrs ago I fell and broke my hip so recovering from that didn’t help with my weight . Anyway you asked about diet . For ‘ brunch ‘ I have cereal and fruit or fruit and yoghurt . Then I don’t eat at all until my main meal about 6pm , which consists of chicken or fish and vegetables . I’m not a lover of red meat so I hardly eat that . I love stir fries and I eat salads . I don’t often feel hungry so don’t see what else I can do . I’d love to be able to lose a stone . By the way , I don’t drink alcohol . So glad somebody on here might be able to help .
Thank you . I’ll have a look but hope it doesn’t involve eating meat .

Hi Fedupoldie and let’s hope we can help you change your username to Inspiredyoungatheart!!!
I’m vegetarian and have managed to lose 11kg over the past 15 months by following lchf. Initially I thought there’d be no way I’d be able to forgo bread, pasta, rice & spuds: but I have, as the healthy fats keep me full and I just love having more energy and not feeling bloated.
I look at DietDoctor.com for inspiration - the illustrated charts of the carb content of various foodstuffs is an eye opener!
My suggestion for breakfast would be to not have cereal but to try swapping it for high fat Greek yogurt with some toasted nuts & seeds and fresh berries. I often stir some crunchy peanut butter into the yogurt, too.
Check your veg are low carb, so lots of greens and ‘above the soil’.
All the best & keep on keeping on 🌻
