I would really like to lose about 5kg in the next month or so and I just wondered if any one has any useful methods that worked for them. I’m now back the office after home working for over 3 months and I feel like I could give the fasting a go and I also need to cut down the emotional eating as I lost my mum on 18th May and just comfort eat at nights with loneliness

It's especially hard losing your mum, because she's the person you want to go to for comfort. You have my condolences. Be gentle with yourself as you mourn.
Hello and welcome Iregray you have my sympathy on losing your Mum, it is a really difficult thing to lose a parent and grief and sense of loss are perfectly normal. It’s important to give yourself time, it’s only been a few weeks after all. As well as the emotional trauma it can also affect you physically so please be kind to yourself ❤️
With regards to weight loss, perhaps focus on healing and becoming healthier, and take time to establish some good eating habits. Evening nibbling is a common problem and one many of us has battled, but also won. I would start with taking a look at the Daily Diary and see how others are managing their eating then make a plan that suits you and your lifestyle

Hello Iregray what a diffucult situation to be in. Sorry for your loss.
I had been on intermittent fasting 16:8 for nearly 4weeks now with hubby’s support. We eat low carb meals and drink plenty of water and just black coffee. For exercises, I watch some Youtube videos for toning up the arms and belly, follow the Couch to 5K app, and walk on rest days. I have now lost over 2kg but I’m sure will lose more eventually. Fingers crossed! This group is very supportive and informative and I enjoy reading the posts. Good luck!
Hi, sorry about your loss. its hard and it will take some time to settle. i advise you take it slowly and start to learn about intermittent fasting. there is plenty of information on You tube. i am on intermittent fasting 12-8 and used to it now and its working good, i have reduced my carbohydrate intake and added moderate exercise. try the fasting and see if you like it. let us know, good luck.
This is when you eat between an 8 hour window and fast for 16hrs. This is what I do... My first meal is at 12 pm and last meal is at 8pm. After 8pm no food until 12 pm the next day but can have low calorie drinks. Some times my first meal can be at 12.30 and last at 8.30. I make it as flexible as my daily schedule but ensuring I strictly maintain the 8hr window. Portion sizes and carbs have been reduced. I eat everything in small portions. I also incorporate aerobics exercise on YouTube preferably in the mornings atleast 3x weekly. Week one was challenging but now I am settling well into the routine and see slow results which I think that as a lifestyle change it's better. Good luck.
