Hi, this week I have gone of the rails a bit. Started to eat some crisp packets and biscuits, I just wanted to ask when people start to see visible weight loss. The scale tells me I've lost weight, but my body doesn't really show it, in fact some times it looks like I haven't lost any at all. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Is this the right advice for a teenager though? I know it’s worked for adults but may not be right for people still growing.
Also, Ocean - it’s sometimes hard to see ourselves and see change. It is going to be especially hard at your age. I suggest using a tape measure from now on if you don’t believe the scales.
When weight loss shows is really dependent on how much you have to lose and how tall you are.
You ought to see it within a month or two, generally in your face and around your belly. If you don't see visible results, it's because your diet plan is wrong.
A big problem with "weight loss" plans is this: when people don't see results from a fundamentally-flawed concept, they think it's because they haven't been hard enough on themselves. They then double down on the mistakes (usually by eating less) and get even more frustrated when that doesn't work either.
Don't go down that path. It doesn't end well. If you're bingeing on crisps and biscuits, it's most likely because you're not eating healthy, filling meals.
I would concur with weightloss30, but I still can't really see it myself. I do get a buzz from the baggy clothes. I have lost a stone and then plateaued during lockdown so think my eyes have adjusted to the way I look now.
I can sympathise. Have been on the diet for 9 weeks. After initially losing 4 lbs have put 2lbs back on again. My calories per day have averaged 1300. I cook from scratch using plenty of fruit and organic veg. I am waiting for a knee replacement so my exercise is limited. Is this the reason I am not losing weight.? Would be interested to hear what you think. I am carrying on with the diet. Have a good Day everyone. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads Step Dads etc.
It sounds to me as if you're eating too little. Make sure you get an accurate calorie allowance from the NHS BMI calculator nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-we... or choose a different route and follow the guidelines here phcuk.org/wp-content/upload... and be aware that fruit has a very high sugar content, have a look at this phcuk.org/wp-content/upload... We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.
I just think as long as numbers are going down on the scales that's what to concentrate on.you ll see someone you havent seen for a while and they will comment I'm certain.keep going.its hard but will be worthwhile for sure
Thank you. That's the main thing, as long as the weight is being lost properly then the physical results will show at some point. Thanks everyone for your comments and advice. Appreciate it!
It does not happen straight away but if you try it does happen. I lost 2st last year and I am struggling since the lock down, but I have only gained 3lbs. Good luck keep trying, we know it is not easy but for the sake of your health it is worthwhile.
