Hi

Have not posted for a long time as I have been eating myself fat .

I am now weighing in at 12 .2lbs I walk daily do Pilates and Keepfit but eat bread and butter cheese full fat yoghurt and any other goodies that take my fancy . Nothing fits me I slop around in elasticated waists baggy tops and t shirts .

Went back on NHS website and so need to lose weight . I have arthritis and the pain is awful made worse by my weight also having surgery for a prolapse so need to lose weight . I keep saying I won’t lose weight because of medications so just eat . Oh dear what a mess I am lol . Not laughing really but gosh how have I got like this ?

Welcome back F1 (I can't bring myself to call you that) :)

There's nothing wrong with butter, cheese and full fat yoghurt, it's the bread that causes the problems. Have a look at these healthunlocked.com/api/redi... and fatismyfriend.co.uk/

As a reminder, all of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

If you haven't already taken it, here's a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Listen to moreless .

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

Stop blaming yourself for your failures. It's baked into the diet. Coming back with the same approach, thinking that this time you can conquer your biology with will power will end the same way as before.

Try cutting the carbs right back. Maybe do something dramatic like Fast800 for a month or dietdoctor.com/low-carb/ket...

I did Fast800 for a month, and at the end of it I realised much to my surprise I could live well without carbs. It's going to be harder when cafés reopen, but I can do it.

Good luck 🤞

How did you like the Fast800 SB? I’m back doing 5:2 and find 800 calories quite acceptable for 2 or 3 days a week but not sure I’d cope with it for a whole month, sigh 😕. I need to do something

I didn't follow it strictly. I had one or two meals a day, depending on how hungry I was. My main meal was in the evening, but if I couldn't wait, I would have a smaller meal at lunch time or mid afternoon. I always ate enough in the evening so I felt full. Calories were between 500-1200/day (not including Christmas day!)and averaged somewhere above 800.

I did get a dramatic kick start healthunlocked.com/fasting-...

That what I’m hoping for, a kick start! I also find after a Very Low Calorie Day my appetite seems to adjust so that’s the plan, 🤞

Maybe rejoin with a new upbeat name! Drink water throughout the day. Plan what you are going to eat . Buy lots of yummy fruit. Just miss out the crisps and biscuit aisles in the supermarket. I've just joined and I get the feeling everyone is here to support each other so we're not on our own.

That's a good idea, but F doesn't have to rejoin, anyone can change their username twice, and thus keep their history.

I bet a lot of us choose a username based on whatever bad health condition in our lives lead us to sign up here.

Welcome Daisy_may. Your positive energy is evident.
