After a very distressing and sad day yesterday, today was much happier and full of laughter and fun. It is still hard not hearing Millie meowing for her food every morning, but the VE Day celebrations helped to put a smile back on our faces. I hope you had a good day remembering too.
Been through the loss of a pet many times and it does not get any easier. It is devastating. You have many memories that you will treasure and I hope that through time when the time is right, that you will open your heart to one of the many rescue cats or kittens from a rescue centre. The loss will be very raw at this moment. I'm glad that VE Day acted as a diversion for you. I really enjoyed it as well.
Sorry about your Millie, 17 yrs ago I had all 3 ageing pets die within a year of one another, they were all 15. We are now at a stage thinking that our little westie is going to pass on, she's got all the signs of loss of appetite, reluctance to go out for walks, drinking too often, 'leaking' occasionally, She's 15 too, not a bad age. Hey ho, that's having pets isn't it.
You know W2 having a day off - going a little easier on yourself - isn't giving up, it can help re-focus you, make it all seem not such a chore. What I am looking to do is find a way to find a manageable healthier lifestyle, not just one while i have the time to do it all. How can i incorporate this 'new me' into life post lockdown, because I know when i return to school i wont have the time. It's about making it manageable.
Yesterday was a day to remind us that we have been a fortunate generation.
Hi dontgojogging, it is so sad to hear about your dog, I know how hard it is to witness them going downhill knowing what has to inevitably come. I will be thinking of you. I am also wondering how I can continue the exercise and walks I have enjoyed so much whilst not at work. I will have to figure that one out closer to the time and try and stick to it despite the workload increase that inevitably comes with the territory.
