Weight Gain

I just weighed myself today and in 6 weeks I’ve gained 18 pounds. I’m definitely not happy about that but having an eating disorder the current lockdown has exacerbated it. The gym is closed, no motivation to do anything. The more weight I gain the lower my self esteem gets. If the lockdown were to end tomorrow I wouldn’t have any clothes to wear to work. Not sure what I’m going to do or what I can do given my current mental state. I know this isn’t about food so I wish there was an eating disorder group here but there isn’t.

You're right, this isn't an eating disorder group but all of us have had some disordered eating, otherwise we wouldn't have become overweight or obese.

It sounds as though you're looking for some help or support. It doesn't look as if you've made the most of all the forum has to offer, and it can be a very supportive and informative place, but you have to be here to get the benefit. As you're stuck at home, is there any reason you couldn't come here every day for 15 - 20 minutes, read what others are posting, pick up ideas and encourage others? Have a look at Fit is Fun to see what activity others are building into their lives in these strange times. Join a weekly weigh in. Use the Daily Diary to share your meal plans and pick up tips.

Everything you need is in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... You just have to be here and use it :)

Hi, I do understand where you are coming from but I do think that by joining in with the different activities on this site, that it would really benefit you. As someone has already said, we all have our own issues with food or we wouldn't be on here attempting to lose weight. I for one, have found that what is going on at the moment has made weight loss more difficult. I find it helps me when I come on here regularly.
