You must feel so proud of yourself when look at those pics, it's like looking at a different person. Stick that before pic on fridge door or cupboard and will remind you how far you've come

Thank you for all the nice comments. So I started by joining sw and attending zumba classes twice a week. The bigger I was the weight seemed to fly off now it doesnt. I understand you hit that wall at some point but I've worked harder now than what I ever did in the beginning and i am struggling. I've been good all last week, I know I've not ate anything I shouldn't as the orlistat would give me some symptoms if I did and when I got weighed on my mums scales I put on.... with what I've ate and drank last week that's impossible, but I do feel really bloated and my monthly cycle is only 5 days away so might me that don't know... this is what brought me here x

You don't mention how long you've stalled so it's hard to give you exact advice but I'll try.

Weight loss in the latter stages depends on how much you still have to lose. If you're close to your 'proper' weight then it is always difficult to lose that last bit.

If you still have some way to go then your metabolism may have stalled. This can happen due to rapid weight loss and not eating at a higher level. If you have hit a plateau then unfortunately, trying to force your way part it by eating less is only likely to cause more problems.

If you're eating at a sensible level, then after a month or two your body should move on, however, as you're using Orlisat this is likely to complicate matters as your body probably isn't getting everything it feels it should and therefore may feel that it's under attack.

I know you won't want to hear any of that but do take heart on how fantastically you've done so far but that now you need to let your body be normal and do normal things.

Good luck!

Maybe it's time to take stock and plan for how you're going to eat long term - and I mean really long term. I assume you won't be taking Orlistat for life and it no longer seems to be helping you so it may be worth while reading about some options.

You may be surprised to know that fat in your diet doesn't make you fat - most of us are as we've had decades of being told that, but it isn't true. And, if you get your food choices right, you should find that "being good" is something enjoyable, not something to put up with.

I hope you'll take a few minutes to look at this blog, from a GP in Cheshire fatismyfriend.co.uk/ Her meal plan looks amazing!

And here's something from a UK cardiologist doctoraseem.com/the-truth-a...

They could help you find a new, healthy approach, without medication, just real food. Do get back with any questions after you've checked out those links :)

It could be the different scales different ones often don't match even using same scales in different place can give different results. I can loose several pounds by weighing in kitchen!!! Always weigh yourself at same time if day in same place, first thing in morning after having a pee and with nothing on best. And yes time of month does have an effect when I was doing weight watchers all them years ago I would always weigh about 2 lbs more so leader used to take that into consideration.

Thanks for the update, very impressive.

A few of my neighbours went to SW. They had spectacular weight loss (not nearly as spectacular as yours!) but I was out to dinner with them on Friday, and they are all back to at least their previous weight. That's one stay at home mum, 2 office workers, and one busy retiree across 3 households (3 women and 1 man), so there is no consistency. It failed for all of them in the longer term. To be fair, I don't think they put the weight on while sticking with the program, they just drifted away from the food and the meetings.

SW is great for losing weight, but maybe not for keeping it off. I think if it proves to be stalled, it might be time to find a new approach.

Good luck, and sorry for messing with your other thread

If you weren't telling us that those pics are of the same person then no one would have guessed.

I can't imagine how chuffed and proud of yourself you must be. Huge congrats!

Amazing - just keep focused and enjoy the journey... I was 17st. 9 and now 14st 10 - slow but sure and the exercise is just starting to kick in (a little).. I've learnt it's the small changes over a longer time that make the difference.

Well done, you look fantastic and have beautiful eyes which didn't show up on your before picture. I would stick a photo of how you look now on the fridge door to keep you on track and to celebrate your now look. x
