Hello - Newbie Alert!

Hi there, just to say hello! I'm going to be starting my journey soon to try to get fitter and loose 4stone. I feel so awful about putting the weight on, but my over-eating over the last couple of years has been due to an emotional burden.

It's now become a vicious circle, as the more I dislike the way I look the more I comfort eat and this has become my norm. I need to try and turn things around and get myself back to the person I used to be and liked.

To any other new joiners, I wish you all the very best in your journey and to anyone already on your way, well done and good luck for your continued success x

Welcome to the forum, have you joined a weekly weigh in - it feels daunting at first but I found it really supportive and helps keep me focused on my goals. I would also recommend setting a mini target, it will feel more achievable and you can celebrate the wins!

Good luck! 🙂

Thank you! I def would want to join a weekly weigh in, just need to find out how I do that. Haven't read through the email from admin yet so hoping there is some info in there about it so I know what I need to do!

It will be in there you just need to decide what day to join - you can find todays under Old weigh ins in the topic section on the right hand side of the website. I've just shared the link with someone else so have it on my copy/paste so here it is! Good luck!

wishing you every success, i'm in my second week so far so good, it seems to be keeping me on track knowing I will be weighing in again, i'm trying to do it properly this time, eating healthier, some walking, nothing too major just small changes to how I have been living, I've been plodding along knowing I was putting the weight on, but to be honest the times it hit me most was if I was dressing up for an occasion , the way I looked in my mind was not how I looked in the mirror,:(

So here's good luck to us all willing to do something about it :):)

Thank you, I totally get what you mean! I need to read the stuff on email I've been sent by admin and hoping there is something there about weighing in. Seen it mentioned quite a bit but not sure how it works, but would def want to as that gives even more incentive to do well. Good luck x

Hiya and welcome! In case you haven't figured out the weigh in yet I thought I'd give you a quick heads-up. Every day members can freely post whatever they want on their own. However, every day the admin team also has certain posts that they out up for people to participate in. These posts are pinned and can be found I believe in the right hand side of the screen. There's a daily diary post for people to post their menu plans, there's a what's happening today post for people to have a chat and there's a weigh in post each day. The idea is that you lost your weight once a week always on the same day. That way each day of the week has their own 'group' I'm in the Sunday super slimmers :) so every Sunday I weight myself, look for the pinned Sunday super slimmers post and then comment my weight there :) hope this helps :) and hope you enjoy using this forum as much as I have!

Great thanks. I'd had a look around and thought that was how it worked, but really helpful to have it confirmed, thanks very much 😁👍

Hi. I’m also trying to loose 4stone and it seems I’ve had the same experience gained weight over the last 10 years (even after saying I was going to start to lose weight after a unexpected divorce 10 years ago.) But now I need to do it as I’m 60 next and less active so need to stop this situation now. Good luck x

Hello Maison 72,

I've just read your newby post. I joined a month ago and also would like to lose 4 stone in the long term but 2 stone by August if possible. Like you I’ve gained the weight over the few years it’s a shock how it creeps on isn’t it especially when we are going through issues in life and then like you say we end up in a circle of eating and being unhappy etc.

I just wanted to say well done for starting and to let you know you are not alone in this. While I’ve been on here I’ve found it very supportive and a nice place to come to instead of eating when I’m sat alone. It’s nice to chat and get involved and to read lots of other peoples journeys. I hope you are doing well and it’s working out for you. X

P.S I’ve just realised I replied to your newby post when you joined. Lol x
