Hello all, I'm new here but impressed about how much non-judgmental support goes on in this forum. I have problems with craving and a sweet tooth that's starting to ruin me. After I had my son in March I gained about 2 stone which I hope to lose ASAP but..... I've not been nice to myself with regards to eating. I need to be motivated to live a healthy lifestyle...

Hi! I'm new here too and I'm also so glad at how supportive everyone is! It's a lovely community, I have a problem with snacking and sweet cravings in particular. What I've started doing is drinking a glass of water whenever I feel "hungry" in between meals, or trying a fruity herbal tea as its sweet and hydrating, or try fruit 😊 hope this helps
A lot of women gain weight either during pregnancy or afterwards; I think mother nature gives us a huge appetite to make sure our babies don't go short whilst we are growing them or feeding them! This so often leads to weight gain, but it is not irreversible!
To feel full, choose foods with a high water content, and avoid carbohydrates such as bread and pasta which will cause your sugar levels to fluctuate and can make you feel hungrier. Buy some snack packs of dried fruit, maybe a few nuts or seeds mixed in; these can satisfy hunger and the need to nibble. Drink lots of fruit teas, or if you really need a sweet treat, a mug of frothy hot chocolate (made with water) can sometimes hit the spot.
For motivation, one way could be to buy yourself a lovely swimsuit a size smaller than you are now, and promise yourself that you will take your baby for some fun in pool as soon as he is out of nappies, and that you will be the size to wear that swimsuit!
