Hello - just to introduce myself

Hi there

I’m currently doing the C25k training and still cannot believe I’m doing it. Having said that I’m only in Wk 3! I have around 1.5 stone that I don’t want to carry around any more and am determined to lose. I’m doing the WHOLE 30 food plan alongside my running so I’m planning to move things along a bit! Looking forward to talking on here and offering support.

Hello and welcome, SuzieMac 😊

I haven't come across WHOLE 30 before. It looks interesting. Are you enjoying it? It would be great to see you sharing your meal ideas on the Daily Diary.

This is a busy place with loads of support and information to help you on your way and we've put everything you need into this Welcome Newbies post. healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... I recommend joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice - why not today? The Sunday Super Slimmers are a very friendly team, as you will see.

Please also read this information about security/privacy, especially as you have left your post unlocked and are using a photo as your avatar healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

I hope you'll become an active member and we'll see you around. Good luck with C25k 😊

Thanks for the lovely welcome. One of the whole 30 rules is that you don’t step on the scales for the entire 30 days of the plan. Last time I did it it cured me of the scales obsession for quite some time! The continuation from the end of the whole 30 reintroduces as many of the food groups as you like and so this is when I’ll step on again!! Basically the plan eliminates anything that causes inflammation of the gut such as wheat, sugar and dairy but i still eat meat, fish, eggs, lots of veg and fruit and almond or coconut milk should I fancy it. Just cutting out bread for a while is making a difference already!

That's interesting. People have different relationships with scales: some are comfortable weighing every day, some every week and some go by the other signs of lost weight and improved health.

As you describe it, it sounds like a low carb approach. A lot of us have found that really helpful :)

Hello SuzieMac,

Welcome to this forum! You’ll find great support here and ideas to lose weight in a sustainable way.

Running (faster) is one of my biggest motivation to lose weight.

At the end of my journey I’d like to try and see if I could run a 10km in less than an hour... I used to be able to do it very easily but that was a very long time ago!

I still need to lose 8kg to do it though...

With the support of everyone I’m sure you can lose your 1.5 stone!

I wish you a very nice start!😊
