Jess here, 31. Current weight 14s, 3lbs. Goal weight is 11stone. I use Saturdays as my weigh in days - trying to find weigh in day posts here?
Just joined. I’m trying the NHS 12 week step. I was on Weight Watchers last year and managed to lose a stone and a half, but it was mostly motivation for a wedding I was a part of. I understand motivation comes within, but would be great for some community support etc.
I have polycystic ovary syndrome, so naturally this is making it a lot harder to lose weight.
I guess I just need to remove myself from my bad habits and make the better choices. I walk 10 mins from my flat to the station for work, and 10 when returning home. I used to run (couch to 5k), so I can combine this again at weekends.
Any way, hi

From the information I have, the 12 week plan is not the best option for someone with polycystic ovary syndrome. Have a look at this video and the following links which offer a much better approach for you
This is a busy forum and we have put all the information you need in a Welcome Newbies post. I have tagged you there so do drop in and check that post out. I recommend joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice
I also suggest you read our post on internet privacy and security, especially if you have a username that could identify you.
To get the most of the forum, come here regularly, get involved in activities, join in chats and encourage others - it will all pay off for you
Perhaps not, but it’ll help with the healthier lifestyle which in turn will help the symptoms. PCOS isn’t curable, it’s always there, I can only ease the symptoms.
Thanks for the links, I already know most of the GP advice of eating better to lose the weight to ease the symptoms. This is just a good way to get out of bad habits, so it’s why I joined.
I didn't mean to be undermining or suggest there wasn't a hope of improvement. Quite the opposie. I wanted to share a positive way forward and a healthy lifestyle that I'm sure you would enjoy. You'll find many members without a diagnosis of PCOS who are following the low carb approach advised in the links above so you'd have good company
I do hope you'll take time to look at the links and that you'll make the most of your time here
