Hi. This is my first post as I have just signed up.
I have let my weight and health slide over the last year - I won’t bore you with the details. I am going to be 60 next year and I want to get myself in a much better place. Weight loss is key for me as the rest will follow. I find I am easily derailed especially when it comes to a glass or 2 of wine! Any tips anyone has would be gratefully appreciated as I start this journey to losing 10 kg as my initial goal.

Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum August22
The best advice I can give is have enough to eat. If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan then the 1400/1900 calorie target suggested is a just generic amount, please check your own personal calorie target using the BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the biggest cause of weight loss failure.
A common mistake is trying to reduce fat and eating too many carbohydrates, please read this for a more detailed explanation (please ignore the title, it applies to everyone) healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... 😊
We have found that active participation is key to success, especially the Group Weigh In and Daily Diary. Please see today’s Chat Thread with a list of all the things happening on the forum. healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
If you haven’t already then please read the Welcome post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... please read it carefully and just ask if you have any questions.

Don't deny yourself the odd treat of a glass of wine ( I'm sat drinking one at the moment) if you have the odd treat your more likely to stick with it as don't feel denied anything. So long as it is only occasionally. Good luck
