Just starting tomorrow the NHS weight loss programme. I'm an active guy, 5,3 tall and weighs 13 stone. I have tried several diets, but always go back to my old eating habits and like chocolate snacks too much. My BMI is 31, in the obese category, so it's time to start planning my meal and calorie counting. Just got to get my head around how many calories I take in on a daily and weekly basis. Especially when I also bike ride weekly, occasionally doing 100 miles in a day. I've developed foot pain on hilly ride out and I know its contributed by my weight. So this is a good incentive in losing weight reducing the pressure off my foot as well as long term health brnedits. Any help is much appreciated. many Thanks Mikey

Weight loss programme starting tomorrow 😁
Hello, Mikey72kel, and welcome to the forum 😊
You can get a recommended calorie range from the NHS BMI calculator nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-we... It takes into account your activity level (you'd be classed as Active) so you don't have to adjust if you have a more active or more leisurely day.
As for your first point, that's how it is with diets. As soon as you go back to eating "normally", the weight comes back, bringing more with it for company. You need to find a new "normal"

I’m starting tomorrow too! I’ve probably got around 2 stone to lose, so good luck to us both! A start to feeling more positive and much healthier.
Welcome Mikey72kel - well the fact you're active is going to be great for you but perhaps start with logging what you eat, measuring out portion sizes.... you'll soon be on the road to success.
