Just had a doc's check up, everything is fine except my weight (I've known for some time it's above the norm but not done anything about it) So it's time to start, looking to get some exercises sorted so would like to hear from anyone in a similar position .

Starting Fitness weight loss regime
Hello and welcome.
The most important thing in weightloss is your food, if you aren't eating healthily and controlling your calorie intake then you will struggle to lose weight.
Exercise does help it along the way but isn't totally necessary when it comes to losing weight. So don't be starting an weightloss plan to lose weight without sorting out your eating too.
There is advice on here about calorie counting etc, I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction for those.
Also, there are forums on Hu for exercise, couch to 5k being one of them.
Good luck and if you need any help don't forget to pop onto here and ask.

First of all, to help you find your way around, and enjoy all the things we have on offer, please read the Welcome Newbies Post here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Take your time to read it carefully as it has lots of information.
The best advice I can give is to eat enough. If you are following the NHS 12 Week plan then the 1400 /1900 calorie target suggested is a just generic amount, please check your own personal calorie target using the BMI checker, it’s often higher than you think. We always advise starting towards the top of the range, being hungry is the single biggest cause of weight loss failure.
I also highly recomend coming onto the forum regularly, daily if you can, reading posts and replying to others. Being part of a community is proven to help weight loss. Why not join our daily chat thread ‘What’s Happening Today?’
For your own privacy and safety online we suggest that you to lock your posts by selecting ‘followers in my community’ when you write a new post. Please read our security post here.

Get the nutrition right and then go with the exercise would be my advice. Need brain on both and nutrition will be the most important.
What type of exercise are you thinking of?
I'm going with a group to ride motorcycles over "The roof of India" this time next year, it involves some high altitude stuff (13000ft+) and I need to build up my cardio vascular fitness to help me cope, so I have a year to get a bit of weight off and build it up.
Ok... sorry, got the impression from your first post that weight loss was more important.
This plan will certainly give you a cardio workout, just take it slow and steady.
In the second half of the 9 week plan, or for some after the plan, your fat burning processes will become faster to react and more efficient, then you can jog slow for fat burn and go faster for cardio. With running and nutritional adjustments you should achieve a lot in 12 months, certainly in terms of cardio fitness.
