Hi Candy and welcome.

Doesn't seem right for the first thing you hear here to be a bit negative but weight loss is 80% plus about managing what you consume. Exercise can help but isn't necessary as such. The positive from that though is that you don't have to go down the gym 5 days a week :)

I'm unclear what your understanding of the word 'dieting' means but hopefully you're not referring to eating sensible healthy portions which is what your body needs to maintain an equilibrium.

Many people here start off with the NHS 12 week plan. Maybe download it, give it a good read through and see what you think.

Good luck!

Aww ok. Thanks very much for the prompt response. I meant to say i can't maintain a strict diet. I try just for 2 weeks and then it becomes hard afterwards and gain back the weight .

Cool, thanks for the clarification. Strict diets are seen here as a fairly big no no. That's why they generally fail because our bodies and our minds don't like being picked on and at some point rebel.

Additionally, our bodies react to going into 'starvation mode' and therefore do everything they can to regain the weight plus more :(

Hello, Candy05, and welcome to the forum 😊

It's not you, it's dieting that's the problem. Diets don't work. They may have short term results but they aren't sustainable and as soon as we go back to eating "normally", back come the pounds.

So, no more dieting. But that means you need to find a new way of eating healthily that you will enjoy and can sustain, as what we eat plays a far bigger part in weight loss/gain than exercise does. I'll give you a few things to read and watch that could give you a different approach, which many people here have found successful and enjoyable.

Hi, Candy05 , Welcome.

I met a gentleman who lost 4½ Stone in 50 days - but that involved dragging a sled to the South Pole!

You need a good diet that sustains you without making you fat... see the Low-Carbohydrate High-Fat forum here on Health Unlocked.

Do you eat all day?

Try setting yourself a time in the evening after which you do not eat, and gradually make it earlier. See my post on the Fasting and Furious forum here on Health Unlocked:

You can use Intermittent Fasting in combination with almost any other strategy.
