Intermittent Fasting & Weight Loss Plateau

Hi if it helps anyone who has reached the weight loss plateau. After successfully losing weight on a calorie deficit diet my body decided to rebel and refused to shed anymore pounds. Even after consistent gym sessions. This plateau went on for about 8 months and I was getting frustrated almost gave up I tried binge eating and reducing calories further but to no avail. After doing a bit of research I discovered intermittent fasting from 8pm until the following day to 1pm no food plenty of water coffee, green tea etc. Within 2 weeks the weight started coming off again now I fast until 5pm and have consistently lost weight around 16 pounds in 4 months. It’s great to open your fast with a healthy green vegetable juice followed by a quick protein shake or chicken breast with vegetables. But I do then have a sweet desert and it’s all good. I’m in my forties so if an oldie like me can do it you might want to look into it.

Intermittent fasting is great! I too practice intermittent fasting and feel healthier and like I have more energy and as you say you can have that sweet treat if you like and still lose weight. I save my sweet treat for a big cup of coffee with milk and coffee mate and a couple of rich teas :). I’m currently on my last day of my water fast (I did three days) and have lost 8lb. I had a bad week last week and just wanted to detox! Intermitten fasting is definitely something I can see myself sticking too. Keep it up :) x
