Although I am not new to dieting, I have spent my life trying to get to an healthy and lose weight. I have been trying since I was 9 years old and am 60 this year. Now I have several health problems mostly to do with weight. I really need help. I know everything about calories and fats etc and can always help others but I can't seem to help myself. Any suggestions

Hi and welcome, bendoggie1
Many of us arrived here, believing we knew all there was to know about losing weight and just didn't have the willpower to make that knowledge work. It didn't take us long to realise all those things that we thought were right, were the very things that were making us fat. Have a look at these and see if they strike a chord healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Hi, bendoggie1 , Welcome.
Does a calorie-restricted diet not work, or do you not have the motivation, will power etc. to stick to your calorie allowance?
You know that fats are now known to be good for you? and satisfy hunger, and help prevent snacking?
Do you eat, or snack all day?
You might find that not eating all day might help - see:

Thanks, your right I think my knowledge is probably out of date now, I do think sometimes I am just scared of failing again but now I have joined this I am going to try again. I have had 600 calories today and have written it all down, I have 5oo calories for evening meal which is a stir fry. Thanks again for replying
You're eating far too little, bendoggie1, unless you're extremely short. Check your calorie allowance on the NHS BMI calculator, because eating too little won't do you any favours healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
