The best way to keep your blood sugar and insulin at a healthy, steady level is to not eat between meals and to eat the right foods that don't give you sugar and insulin spikes. This means avoiding not just the obvious sugars but those foods that rapidly turn to sugar in the body, particularly bread, potatoes, pasta and rice.
