I started on here last year. I was doing well. But as usual, I lost motivation, life got in the way and stopped being healthy/exercising. Christmas, injury and the poor weather didn’t help matters. A lots of serious family health incidents took priority. Now I am the biggest I have ever been. I am so ashamed and disgusted in my self. I am uncomfortable and yet every evening end up eating anything available. I have small children so there is always something lying around.
I just can’t seem to find the motivation to give myself the shake I need. I am scared to excercise in case I hurt myself running again (ended up with plantar faciitis for a year). I am confused about whether I need to count calories or just load up my plate with healthy things. I am confused about whether low fat oils and spreads are better than natural oils and spreads. I am confused about whether to cut carbs or fat or both. So much conflicting info. My husband is stuck in his ways and eats a poor diet and it doesn’t help when I end up having to cook two meals if I want to be healthy.
Sorry to offload but I am really stuck, feel completely helpless and don’t know where to begin anymore.

First of all you are not alone in falling off the wagon, it happens to us all, but the true winners pick themselves up and start again, so very well done to you 👏
Secondly, have another read of the Welcome Newbies Post here to refresh yourself of all that we have going on healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
I would also go along to today's Group Weigh In, Thursday is a small group but very supportive 😊
Lastly, I strongly suggest joining in with the Daily Diary for extra support with food and meal planning. For weight loss calorie restriction is needed, but how you achieve this is largely up to your food preferences and family circumstances. In general, smaller portions are needed, with a balance of all major food groups. Most of us tend to eat more carbohydrates than are needed, and after years of publicity, we are also nervous of good healthy fats 😕
Have a good read of all the information, keep in touch, and ask if you have any questions
Hi Nikabi, welcome and well done for joining, a first step to success. I understand what you're thinking and have often been asking myself the very same questions, carbs, fats, calories??!!! As Anna said, there are many versions of a healthy diet, have a good look. For me, as a junk food reliant, non cook, it's a slow process of cooking more and finding healthy convenience foods for late working days etc. I suggest baby steps and don't be too hard on yourself. Maybe you can get healthy food into your hubby by stealth!! Or you could make a little change by adding loads of veg to your plate, for example. I'm sure you'll find lots of ideas. Good luck and keep posting, even if for the odd rant, we've all been there at some point...!
