Desperately want to get back to my slim self..... have put weight on through the past stressful year or so, and now want to lose a good 2 1/2 stones. Just seem to have lost my willpower..... any tips on motivation and willpower gratefully received! Have started my healthy eating again today, and the thought of going on holiday in August like this is awful! Help!

You have plenty of time before August and remember any weight you lose is a bonus so don't think of the whole 2 1/2 st - which by the way is what I need to lose. I know I can do it as I have done it (and kept it off for a few years) before this last slow slide upwards which has taken the last 20 stressful months to get to.

As I did last time, I'm looking at this as a series of smaller steps - the first of which I've taken by getting to the gym four times in the past 2 weeks and starting to remove or lessen some things from my diet.

I try to remember that losing weight is something done in small steps...

I am trying to view it in half stone goals, finding time for exercise between a stressful 4 day a week job, my son etc is hard, although I do dog walk every morning and then Sat,Sun and Mon we have good long walks, hopefully it'll all help. I'm just fed up of having about 3 items of clothing that fit and zillions that don't!!

Is there someone local you can buddy up with for walks or gym - or you could advertise locally for someone - I have a friend I go to the gym with when we can both go as well as going on my own...

Hi there, I also started out wanting to lose 2 1/2 stone, I've been following the NHS 12 Week plan and so far so good! I'm on week 3 and find using MyFitnessPal it's really easy to count calories, plan meals and track portion control! Good luck on your journey 🌼

I think I'm one of those people who just needs to be super strict! I don't really have the time to write everything down that I eat, although I am trying very hard to portion control and fill up with water in between! I find it good that you get feedback on this site, as I'm not one for actually attending classes, esp after a stressful week at work! Here's hoping I can report back with good news every week or so! Good luck on yours too.

I totally agree, I've never done calorie counting before, I could never be bothered with looking everything up! But with MFP you can barcode scan it and it's so quick and easy!! Really proud of myself for sticking to it so far ... Here's hoping for another good week 👍
