I can lose weight, I know I can, but it's not easy. I have to battle with myself virtually all day everyday and hope that I lose a pound a week. Then my friend announces she's lost 6lbs in a week. I'm happy for her achievement but disheartened for myself. I'm really trying!! Any tips for healthy deserts/sweet tooth fixes welcomed xxx

Here's an easy, low calorie chocolate desert from Tom Kerridge book which i turn to when i need a sweet fix (without the coffee myself)
Hi MrsLeo
Really sorry to hear you’re struggling, don’t be disheartened when the numbers don’t seem to add up, whether you get there tomorrow or next week you’re still ending up in the same place.
I really love hartleys 10 calorie Jellies. Danone light & free raspberry skyr yoghurt as it’s really thick and creamy (pop mine in the freezer for 30 mins before eating) Hot Cross buns tend to be Lower in calories than most cakes & also Warburtons pancakes only have 66 calories per cake & make a yummy snack. I also really love nakd bars especially their banana bread one & it’s only 94 calories + 1 of your 5 a day. If you don’t mind the fact it’s sugar free chocologic dark chocolate is a good option & is the only sugar free chocolate that tastes nice, it has about 151 calories in 35g compared to say a 36g dairy Milk at 192 calories.
Good luck x
I know how you feel. I did lose over a stone about a year ago but my depression really kicked in and I put all the weight back on plus a but more. I am a comfort eater so I try to keep carrot sticks in the fridge to nibble on but if I really crave sugar I have a meringue nest - about 100 cals and they really do the trick for me. Hope this helps.
I thought this initially - bit like changing job ...oh my goodness -what have I let myself in for ? Now I know how to shop . It becomes second nature . I have my tried and tested 200 cal salads when I have had too much at lunch . Effortless 150g of Cottage cheese under 150 cals and a full tin of tuna about 115 or lean ham under 30 cals per slice so not really a punishment . I started early Jan and am seeing results . Now 1 -2lbs per week and feeling like aged 58 I have got the energy of a teenager . When I do crave I go and wash my hair or iron or just get out away from the fridge .
Good luck Mrsleo,
My friend tells me most weeks he's lost five pounds .I go running and eat more healthy foods ,I hardly drink alcohol and I struggle to drop anything .
Good luck I'm sure you will get lots of support on here .
Can't wait till you tell your friend you have lost weight and you will.

You can do this journey which is different than your friend. I had to learn that when my sister is losing bunch of weight ahead of me. I know it is hard but remember slow and steady wins the race. That was just her first week. You do not know what is ahead for her. Be proud and walk tall. You got this.
