Hello everyone šŸ˜Š just joined this today, really want to try my best at this but I know Iā€™m going to struggle unfortunately. If anyone has any tips Iā€™d really appreciate it, also does this plan really work? Does anyone have any examples of how much weight theyā€™ve lost from this? Thank you ā˜ŗļø

Hi welcome , I will tell you itā€™s not easy to start with but you have come to the most friendly and helpful forum , this forum has helped me lose weight and I can honestly say best decision I made , I was out of breath going up the stairs , felt miserable and moody . Last April I weighed thinking I was a stone over weight , I was horrified I was over 3 stone over weight , I found the nhs 12 week plan and havenā€™t looked back , itā€™s not a diet but more a life change . I eat whatever I want but keep to my calorie allowance . I started off with walking and now been doing Zumba , Iā€™ve lost over 3 stone and down from a size 18 to a size 12 to 14 , I feel like a different person. It really do get easier and keep active on here . Good luck xx

Thank you! Thatā€™s amazing what youā€™ve achieved! I have a gym membership that I donā€™t even use so I now think this is the time! Haha. The problem with me is that Iā€™m a massive snacker, and itā€™s always crisps or sweets I crave, thatā€™s what Iā€™m worried about Xx

Honest I couldnā€™t stop snacking but I make a batch of low calorie jellyā€™s and snack a jacks for a treat x I find having breakfast is the main thing that has helped me.you can do it , good luck xx

crisps are my downfall however I have managed to stop eating them for 53 days- the longest I have been without and not had cravings for them- I can even walk down the aisle in the supermarket and not be tempted- never though that would happen but it did take me a month. I could quite happily eat 7 packs of multipacks in 1 sitting! I don't buy them especially multipacks since they don't last long. I would occasionally have 1 packet as part of my allowance- that is the fun part of the 12 week weight loss plan- no food is banned. I'd go to the supermarket and have a packet of crisps with a cup of tea before I started my shop. If I plan to have then in my daily allowance I buy them either day before or on the day since they won't last- I learnt whilst falling off the wagon so to speak several times! I decided to give up crisps in December and have decided to carry on- though I admit over Christmas I did eat quite a few savoury snacks such as Bombay Mixes!

Hi Gaynor 123. Losing 3 stones, going from size 18 to 12-14?

Wow!!!! You really have changed your lifestyle . Speechless :)

Bodies don't distinguish the carbohydrates as sweet or savoury but tastebuds do and the memory of how something tastes is what gets us going back for more, plus crunchy texture and the saltiness of crisps. I stopped eating them quite a long while ago, not for health at the time but because the sharp edges scratched and set off mouth ulcers. I can replicate the taste I occasionally want with a thin well done slice of rye toast, cream cheese and marmite.

its the taste- I know they are carbs which includes sugar- but I don't have a sweet tooth- though I do have my moments!! I don't equate savoury snacks as being better than sugars its the taste of them I prefer
