Fasting
Hello paperstowrite
I’m afraid I can’t help you with any information about fasting. If don’t eat enough one day I tend to over eat the following day, I much prefer a slow and steady approach to weight loss
I hope you’ve had time to read all the Newbie information you were given

Good luck
Anna
I want to do a fast because over Christmas I have been binging allot. It would be good to encourage each other if you want to do one. Maybe just do it for a day and see how it goes
Perhaps I'm mistaken, however it sounds as if you may be in a rush to lose weight, whereas the general consensus is that by managing a sensible healthy decline in weight loss, it is less likely to lead to yo-yo dieting.
There are recognised diets that include intermittent fasting, such as the 5:2 which some people here I believe follow but out and out fasting, as Anna has already mentioned, is more likely to lead to over eating at some stage.
Can't help you on this, paperstowrite . I'm more inclined to just eat healthily. When I fall off the wagon (as this week) I'll get myself back on track as soon as poss. For me, that's going to lead to long term gain (I.e. loss ) which is what I want
The only fasting I do is from the time I go to bed until after I have bloods taken at the GP surgery and then it's @9am the following morning and I am ready for my breakfast
I prefer to eat healthily and loose weight slowly - YES I went over board on the food and chocs yesterday - but today have been relatively good - and stayed within my calorie range
From the research I have done in the past it seems the consensus is that short fasts of maybe a couple of days or intermittent fasting are okay but long fasts can be dangerous especially if not done under the supervision of a medical professional.
Looking into the water fast I, personally, felt it was not something I could do as I felt it was too long denying my body basic vitamins and minerals it needs to maintain a healthy balance, and I was worried about the potential strain to my heart if my body went into starvation mode and began burning muscle instead of fat.
However, I am not a medical professional and I would advise you seek a medically trained professional opinion before starting out on any kind of long fast just to make sure it is something safe for you to partake in, as everybody is unique and this may be okay for some but unsafe for others.
Sorry can't help. I don't think there are many here who would take that path for weight loss.
I don't know anything about fasting, but having eaten all round me for the last two days, I'm now ready to get back to healthy eating and smaller portions. 😂
Fasting just makes me feel ill so I don’t do it. If I want to indulge, I either do so in moderation and go for a walk, or don’t do it altogether. The problem with food is that its creation and variations are just so enjoyable . We just need to enjoy it less, on occasion; well I do anyway!
Well I made it 7 days and my blood sugar dropped to low. So I broke the fast. I know I can do 5 days with no problem, So that is what I am going to do now 5 days fasting and 2 days eating.
