Please delete if not appropriate, a lot of you mention feeling depressed or struggling with your mental health and how this effects your weight, I just watched a film called Brad's status (2017) its a bit of a weird one but 'aint we all eh? If you are a worrier/ deep-thinker etc I think you should watch it, I often compare my life to others but here's the really silly bit... I am lucky enough to have both parents still around and still as amazing as they have always been, a partner that goes above and beyond for me when I need someone, a job that pays the bills so I can stay fairly comfy and this film makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world because of this! What I'm trying to say, there will always be someone prettier, richer, more popular, etc, if you focus on all that you will never feel satisfied! Focus on the good stuff, even if its just how happy your cat makes you! lol x
Well, to finally get to the point of this post, I CHALLENGE YOU to pick one song that makes you feel good or motivates you to get up and do something or inspires you to focus on whats important and post it below --------> ------------> ------------->
(Also a good way to get to know each other Also also a good way to broaden ones music taste!)
Looking forward to any replies, Nanight all x

I agree that music is good for your health but impossible for me to narrow it down. My head nearly always has a tune in it. I hum and sing out loud most of the day plus have a radio on whenever possible.
lol... as I'm typing this an advert on TV came on with Black Betty and my first thought was 'great tune'. But then, my mind is likely to say that to most songs I hear.
If it helps, I was 14 when I bought my first albums (vinyl). Judas Priest (British Steel), Holst (Planet Suite) and Sex Pistols (Great Rock n Roll Swindle). There isn't a song on them that I wouldn't class as a favourite, even 'Who killed Bambi' which is terrible but like the others brings back memories of a moment of a time of a feeling.
As someone who just loves to sing I have many favourites but one that really boots me up on my phone when Im out walking is 'Feeling Good' by Michael Buble
I also love ' Three little birds Dont worry be happy,' by Bob Marley '
Anything that had a upbeat tempo great to keep you walking to a pace
I could give you a long list
A couple of songs we're singing in my show on Sunday to raise awareness for the homeless and certainly make you think are 'Another day in paradise ' Phil Collins ' Under Pressure' Queen and our final roof raiser we sang at the end last year was ' You raise me up ' Josh Groben hair prickling as we waited for final curtain.
i Love all types of music but here is a couple that are guaranteed to get me off my feet and dancing...
Killers - Mr brightside
Take that - Shine
Van Morrison - brown eyed girl
Queen - bohemian rhapsody
Abba - Dancing queen
I could go on and on with others but there my fav uplifting songs for me x
Love all of the above. My personal cheer me up song is Here comes the sun, think it was by George Harrison originally, but love the Richie Haven version. ❤️
Lovely post Bikergrl and I agree, we are all so quick to compare ourselves to others and feel inadequate, too fat, unsuccessful etc and sometimes we need to think of all the people who are worse off and feel grateful 😊
With regards to music, it is a very useful tool for lifting the spirit and getting us moving. I have a workout playlist on that I cam constantly adding to but it’s mostly 70’s and 80’s soft or ‘glam’ rock, of which my absolute favourite if I love to Boogie by TRex 😊
I love music and listen to a wide spectrum so it's difficult to choose just one - I LOVE Alice Cooper, always have a massive head rave when they're on hahaha!
I also enjoy MeatLoaf, Bonjovi, Carpenters, Queen....Oh - this is quite funny because I'm really not what this song is and that's 'I'm Sexy (and I know it)' I LOVE that song and it's on most days - neighbours must hate me lmao But that gets me grooving in no time! I totally smash out my moves (in the privacy of my own room haha!!) every time.
I even feel quite cheerful just typing all this ha...

Who doesn’t sing along with their hairbrush/wash up mop to Livin’ on a Prayer! 🎤
Great Post, music is so powerful and when your low it's hard not to listen to sad music.
My taste is eclectic and I could go on and on but here's a few
That's Life Frank Sinatra (this is me, keeping picking myself up and joining the race again and again and again)
A Wonderful World Louis Armstrong
It's Raining Men Gerri Haliwell
Faster than the speed of light Bonnie Tyler
YMCA, Agga Do, Jolene, list is endless
All Disco favourites are guaranteed to chear me up, I just have this wonderful vision of 20 odd adults with special needs enjoying one of my son's disco's some time ago, they are an inspiring bunch of people - not much gets in their way, they just battle on regardless - a lesson to be learned.
Also enjoy religious music, Zadok the Priest being a particularly up lifting piece.
Bikergrl , brilliant posting and thank you so much
Reading everyone's choices has been wonderful and I love most of them.
I think IndigoBlue61 's 'I wanna boogie' sums up the whole thread because that is US needing a bit of a lift every now and then whether it is about the 'ole weight or other problems.
I love so many of these too! You all have such good taste in music, made me smile reading the replies and of course imagining you all pulling your best dance moves when no one is watching hehe... I think I need to listen to a bit of Queen tonight, I was never really 'into' them when I was young but when they are on the radio I cant help but sing along! I also find it hard to choose just one as I love most music from folk to heavy metal but generally if its really cold out and I know I should go walk the dog I usually put my MP3 player on and choose something like La vie en rose- Louis Armstrong, It reminds me of cheesey 90's rom coms like 'You've got mail' and 'Sleepless in Seattle' and that warm fuzzy feeling of wearing big jumpers and sipping coffee in front of the fire when its snowing outside hehe
P.S Had a maaaaassive crush on Marc Bolan when I was younger so enjoyed watching the video above! ;p
