I feel I have been a bit of a let down with this challenge but life has really got in the way the latter part of the year which has not only affected my committment to the challenge (& posts) but also my own weight loss
However, fortunately many of the lifestyle changes made last year have stayed with me so whilst the odd pound may have kept back on I have maintained my current size 22. So not all bad considering I was a 30/32 Feb 2015.
At the start of the challenge I had hoped to get into a size 18 dress. This has obviously not happened but I have managed a lovely size 22 as demonstrated by the photo (sorry about the naff photo). I also have lovely Clarks patent shoes. Neither of the things I could have even contemplated 18 months ago. So I haven't won this challenge but I have not lost either! :/ The dress is for a wedding next week. I am a little worried about wearing it as I would never usually wear something so short etc.
Life has been full of changes this year but things should settle soon & I'd like to pick up the weight loss again in November - with a plan to run in the New Year!
So how has everyone else got on? Please post your results throughout the month, that means you can set your last date at the 31st Oct if you still want a little more time.
I'd love to know how you all got on, hopefully much better than me
Please see link below for the original post if you are not aware of this challenge - it is of course always open to new comers (you have 29 days )
Oh Sue, well done you! You've done fantastically well! To have maintained for all that time, is a tremendous achievement and I'm soooooooo envious! I've never managed to maintain yet!
I love your dress and you definitely shouldn't be nervous wearing it, because to coin a phrase, you look absolutely super!!
Look at your trim feet now, you lucky so-and-so, they look so neat in your lovely shiny shoes! You're going to wow everybody!
I'm thrilled to hear that you're planning to start running! You won't regret it, it's brilliant! I shall look forward to you joining us in the Tortoise and Hare Challenge!
I have managed to fit into most of the things I was aiming for, except the size 12 jeans! I think they're a few months away yet, BUT I did put on my size 14 swimsuit for a mini challenge pic, which is something I didn't think I would do, in a million years!
Maybe by the end of the month, I'll brave a piccy in something else for you, but don't hold your breath, I'm only happy in front of a camera, if I'm in disguise!
Thanks for this challenge Sue, it was a genius idea and I'm sure at some time in the future, you'll dream up something else for us
Wishing you all the best and looking forward to having you back with us, more often
Thanks Moreless. I am glad you got into most of the things you were aiming for. And a size 14 swimsuit wow wee - get you. I am so pleased for you! Maybe one day I'll squeeze into a 14
I will take a look at the Tortoise & Hare Challenge. Love all these innovative ways to try to keep us on track
You look fantastic in your dress, and it's lovely to see you again. I am going to re-acquaint myself with your Challenge again, by having a read through the original post, and thinking about it some more.
Well done for maintaining your weight loss, that is a really great achievement, and you really suit your weight loss badge!
I've also had a bit of a roller coaster 3 months, but have managed to lose a little bit π. Funnily enough I was trying to find a slightly warmer top with sleeves this morning, and the one I wore in April/May is very loose π
I mentioned on here a while ago that I had bought a size 14 jacket, which was a snug fit, and I'm delighted to say it now fits perfectly π
Absolutely brilliant what a great drop in sizes. It's a lovely dress and the shoes go with it beautifully, you look lovely go to the wedding and wear your outfit with pride. It won't be long before you're buying the sizes you want. I hope you enjoy the wedding and post a pic of yourself on the dayππππ
You do, I feel lighter than ever, and yet recently seem to have a bigger tum and bum, the joys of late menopause
Hi sueper,
You are looking really good girlπ Love the whole outfit, and the dress is a perfect length on you have a fab time at the wedding and go strut your stuff !! π
Never loose sight of what you have acheived and the fact that you've maintained for a while is further proof of your lifestyle change, as we always say it's not a diet but making changes π
Like you 2016 has been challenging, for me it's due to ongoing health issues and it's been some weeks since I last checked in but like you I am hopeful that in the next few weeks I can get back into the 'fold' and start shifting more Ibs.
My original cropped trousers have been packed away all summer but all being well I'm off on holiday 11/11/17 so I'll try them on at the end of oct and we'll see π€
Thanks & good luck Flossie. Gonna keep doing what I am doing this month & then try to put some serious effort in next month. I can already feel my mindset changing a bit I am off to Rome Monday week and I will not be missing out on any gelato
Sorry to hear you have been unwell this year, makes it so much harder to focus on weight loss when you feel ill. Fingers crossed things will improve for you.
What a pretty dress sueper and I love those shoes π Wow, you'll look fab at the wedding
My aim was to lose inches from my waist to get to at least a 30inch waist if not smaller. That is not going to happen as I have too much flabby skin and am almost at my goal weight. As I didn't lose the weight until this (my 70th) year, my skin has no elasticity so I'll have to settle for a 34 inch waist. That's loads better than the 41 inch waist I started off with
Good luck to all of you in reaching your 'Say Yes to the Dress' goals π
Thanks Mouse. 7" loss on your waist is great. The skin may settle a bit more. They say it takes about 2 years. Having not lost much this year I know my skin has tightened a little. So fingers crossed
I can manage to zip up the skirt for my challenge, but it's not quite wearable yet (bit too snug and high on the waist for comfort - still need something off the hips/thighs). I'm going to keep at it though and just the fact that I can zip it is astounding!
In the meantime, I'm now fitting into a really pretty sunflower dress my sister made for me. I was really upset not to be able to get into it so it's fabulous to be able to wear it now!
Thanks Vicky & well done you for getting into the dress, your sister must be really pleased too.
Hopefully the skirt will be nice and comfortable soon. Keep trying it on as you just never know when it'll fit and if you are continuing you may have only a small window of wearing opportunity - I know this from experience
Thanks Sueper! I will definitely keep trying it. But I have a sneaking suspicion that it will finally fit comfortably when I either hit or get really near my ultimate goal.
I did just buy a dress yesterday that I'm hoping to wear the end of the month, just a few more pounds and I think I'll be there.
Hi Sueper I love the outfit. It seems ideal for an Italian wedding, very striking. I'm also a fan of your patent shoes. I like a bold shoe style, amazing how great shoes can make you feel. I didn't really join this challenge but I think I murmured something at the beginning about wanting to make sure I stay in my size 12 jeans. And despite a few ups and downs the jeans do still fit. So my fears that the weight would pile back on seem to have been unfounded. I hope you feel reassured by your year of maintaining too, and good luck getting started with the next phase
hi sueper congratulations on what you have accomplished. i just read your profile and have got to say 'Look at how far you have come!' really is such an amazing achievement. well done. your outfit is beautiful, love the sassy little heels be fabulous and wear it with pride. i hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding. be kind to yourself! XOX i got into the dress i so desperately wanted too in the summer.
