Hello, from about the age of 12 up to my middle years my weight went up and down, I was healthy, sporting (rugby, boxing etc) but always carried that bit too much extra, as my life went on (I am now 54) I kept thinking I should do something about it, but never did. At 52 I finally had a damn good talk to myself and undertook a lifestyle change. No more choc, no more cakes, no more late eating, no more stuffing myself stupid with puddings etc..
Do I love mt new lifestyle? yes! Do I love my new diet? that's about 50/50, I like the results sometimes I want to eat stuff I shouldn't. (And sometimes I do but not all the time!)
I think you need to make a lifestyle choice, make it your decision and your responsibility and when you feel great in 6 weeks time (weight will come away as you start to understand just how great you can feel) measure your progress with how you feel not what the bathroom scales tell you. Accept there will be set backs, and my advice is enjoy the changes even if they feel crappy to start with, Oh and get plenty of activity in.
Try to have an hour a day doing something that makes you feel warm (Don't let your boyfriend read that last bit he may have some suggestions!)
You can do it, but tell yourself you will and are going to do it..and never give up..
Thankyou! A year ago or so i lost abit of weight and i felt good but then something changed and it all went down hill from there and now i have underactive thyroid the doctors told me is alot harder to lose weight but the tablets i take for it should balance it out im just really struggling with where to start whats the first choice and how do i stick with it, i cant look at my body in the mirror and i dont feel like me anymore
I understand that feeling! Hypo thyroid is not a great thing to carry as well, but once you get your levels sorted T3 and T4 seem to be difficult to get right (my wife has thyroid issues).
Again. as I offered go by how you feel not how you think you should weigh or look and the rest should get in line behind that.
I wont say good luck as that makes it sound like chance, it is your choice not anyone elses. keep on keeping on.
Try to find stuff you like that's not mars bars, kebabs, pizza etc.. (yeah I know) and keep active and not punishing yourself for feeling hungry..it's natural..
Thankyou! Time to quit the chocolate and fizz❌
