Hi I'm New to this site. I've spent most of my life on a diet and always put on more than I have lost. My wardrobe ranges from a size 14 to a 22. I am now officially obese. I'm looking forward to changing the eating habits of a lifetime!

Welcome Fran65, this is a fantastic forum with tons of information and very supportive people who are, myself included, on the same journey as you just at different points along the route. I wish you lots of luck along the way, keep active on here especially when your feeling the need for extra motivation as it honestly really helps 👍😊
Hi Fran
There are lots of 'seasoned' life-long dieters on here, (I am one of them), who often struggle with weight loss/maintenance.
As cheesy as it sounds, try to view this as a healthier way of eating, as opposed to a rigid 'diet'.
You will get loads of encouragement on here which will help you to succeed with your weight loss.
Good luck! ☺
Hello Fran 65
I have adopted a totally new style of eating having completed the 8 week blood sugar diet
Looking back my diet was heavy on carbs, I love potatoes pasta and bread but now I don’t eat any
I have changed from size 16 to 12 and I shall try to stay this way by continuing to exclude them and continuing to bead active as possible. I feel so much better, love my new figure and small waist, have more energy, sleep better and have reduced cholesterol blood pressure and blood sugar. I remind myself of these benefits each time I am offered the wrong foods, too much food or drink and for now don’t find it difficult to turn them down . I put this down to having adopted a style of eating suggested by Dr Michael Moseley which keeps my blood sugar on an even keel . The book is well worth reading and there is still plenty of things you can eat. You just use alternatives to high carb foods eg swop mash potato for mashed celeriac, cauliflower or broccoli rice for white rice and you choose low GI fruit and vegetables and full fat rather than low fat
It certainly suits my body and maybe the way forward for you as a sustainable way of eating
Best wishes
Hi nice to meet you. You probably put back on even more weight when going off your diets because you have eaten too little. When you drastically cut your calorie intake you send your body into starvation mode. It then responds by lowering your metablism in a desperate attempt to hold on to calories. When you start eating normally again because your metablism is so low you put on more weight than you lost. x
This is undoubtedly true. So thinking differently should help. I am trying to make healthy alternative meals that we can all enjoy avoiding sugar, fat and too many carbs. Also portion size is something I need to tackle. Onward and downward!
