Hi. I'm hoping to lose a stone over the next 12 weeks. I am not physically able to do much exercise other than hydrotherapy once a week and use a wheelchair when I go out. I gained a lot of weight when I was put on steroids for a year and just haven't been able to get rid of it. I have been recording my weight for the last 5 days and although I eat small healthy meals I now realise that my 'little treats' have more calories than I realized. I'm going to reduce those treats and log everything. Fingers crossed.

Hello Kathy12 , sounds like a good idea to check what the reality is, then you can take the appropriate steps (if only it were that easy ). The good news is if you use the NHS BMI calculator it will give you a calorie range within which you'll lose weight; you might well find it's higher than you expect so there will be scope for some of your treats as long as you count them in your daily allowance.
Take your time following the link YellowRose has sent you and you'll start finding your way around the forum. You'd be welcome to join the Sunday Weigh-in in the morning.
Good luck
Hi Kathy12
It is certainly achievable to lose a stone in 12 weeks following the nhs plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your calories and as you are not able to exercise make sure you click on the low activity so you get the right daily calorie allowance. Have a look at the Daily Dairy in Events as it will give you some meals ideas to help you plan your week.
Have a great first week.
Calories are the most important things to watch Kathy 😀. I’ve lost almost three stone and have mobility issues so it can be done
Have a good look at the information Rose has given you and check into the forum regularly
Best wishes
Anna
Welcome and wishing you well on your weight lose journey.
Hi Kathy . You have the right idea about cutting out those treats but don't see this as punishment. A handful of almonds or a low cal hot choc can be a real boost . Most of my treats used to be grab sided bags of crisps and sweets . Quavers and skips are lower in calories. It is hard at first to give up all . My plan of not having the in the house didn't work as others bought them in but little tweaks can make so much difference. Let us know how you get on and any tips please .
Good luck Kathy 12,
Great support and advice on this forum,I'm sure you will manage your target.
Good luck

Half a bar is realistic as you radically alter your diet. Maybe adjust one of your meals to ensure you aren't going over your cals for the day ?
Good luck. I do find logging everything helps as it makes you make healthier less calorie choices.
Hi Kathy 12 I would like it to be 8 7 but you know in one way it’s not all about the numbers in the scale it’s about eating well and caring for myself which I don’t tend to do very well. I eat lots of snacks rather than proper food so not very healthy I also have higher Cholesterol levels 6.8 and believe if I ate better and weighed a few pounds less it would help.
Ah thank you it’s great to hear that .. I just need to do it now😂
