Starting again! Determined this time.

Morning all - I am 56 years old and have been trying over the last few years to lose some stubborn weight that has crept on post menopause. I would welcome any advice from ladies of a certain age who have found a way to do this - I probably need to lose about 10lbs to one stone. It is also to do with my shape - I would love to flatten my stomach (even a bit!). I do think I am quite healthy... I don't overeat too much but probably snack too much as I have a busy job as a primary headteacher. I enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine with my husband and try to keep this to weekends. I swim a few times a week and walk my dog most days (though my husband does the really long walks). There is a gym at the pool and I do do some stretching exercises - but again, if anyone has any advice re good exercises that would be great - many thanks. Determined to work hard between now and Christmas to make a difference.

Hi charrob and welcome back.

Judging from your current lifestyle, it doesn't sound like you have to change too much. You are already doing some sensible exercise so as you say, cutting down the snacking and the 'overeat too much' bit, is the way forward.

With your determination, you'll be able to achieve your goal by xmas.
