Hi all! I'm new to this forum. 10 years ago, at the age of 30 I had a total hysterectomy which resulted in me going through menopause. I have gained over 2 and a half stone since that I have been struggling to shift. As I am only petite the extra weight really shows and I was shocked to discover that my BMI places in the obese category. As anyone had similar experiences or have any tips on how they have managing to maintain or lose weight?

Hi and welcome to the community!
Hi Monique, I did the Couch25K programme which helped me to shift a stone. I also did the nhs 12 week programme at the same time (just google both to get more info). They are both free programmes and they help you to re-train your food and exercise habits.
If you haven't already done so, do have a look at the newbie posts - you can see the link on on the right hand side of this page.
I'm going through the menopause too and you have my full sympathy! I decided to 'run' my way through it - hence the couch25k experience. As a result I am feeling fitter than I have for ages, mentally and physically - even though I never thought I would ever enjoy running.
So, exercise and healthy eating is the short answer to your question - and put yourself and your health first. Good luck you can definitely do it!
