New member after weight plateau help

Hi! New member here! I used to be 24 stone, now down to 17 stone! Really happy with my 7 stone weight loss, but I still want to lose another 2 stone. Been in a weight loss plateau for around 3 months now, with 2lbs coming off then coming back on. Intermittent fasting has been my godsend and calories in/calories out, I’m eating around 1,800 calories, is this too much or too little? I do HIIT and weight training 3/4 times a week. Have I peaked or is this just temporary? I haven’t lost inches either...Trying not to lose motivation!!

Wow Donoville congratulations for your loss so far and welcome to the weight loss forum.

You mention that you're counting calories the 1st question that came to mind is have you calculated your BMI (which has changed as you've lost weight)and adjusted your calorie allowance accordingly.

Another thing is that you should concentrate on what you eat as opposed to how much you eat.

I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around.

Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.

Here’s the link to the pinned posts, healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Here’s the link for the “Tour” of the forum. If you haven’t already taken it.

I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.

As you have posted your picture ,I recommend that you lock your post so that only members of this forum have access as opposed to the whole web. Thanks

You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.

Good luck I hope to "see " you around.

That’s fantastic! Well done. 😊

I’ve lost over 9 stone and had multiple plateaus. My fix was always to shake things up for a week or two by completing changing my programme. 5/2 or fast 800 and cutting sugar & flour worked for me.

Keep it up!

Good morning Sabby, what a fantastic weight loss, congratulations :) Are you still on your journey and wanting to join us here or are you just visiting and offering support?

Yes I’m still on my journey! I’ve settled into maintenance for a while because the scales are not my friend and I was getting super obsessed. I think I will always be on my journey though!

. I’ve lost weight so many times in the past and regained it, I now understand that I need ongoing motivation and support to keep it off.

I hope my journey will help me to support others too.

I found this forum when I joined the C25K forum. I’ve just started running - something I never thought I could do!

Thanks! I follow a strict food addiction programme where I eat specific quantities & weigh and measure all of my food every day and commit it to a buddy the night before (but thanks anyway!)

Hi TP03 and welcome to the weight loss forum.. May I suggest that you follow all the links you've been sent in your welcome package It's best to use the website as opposed to the app.

I hope you join the Daily Diary, there's lots of delicious ideas there. When you have decided your “weigh in day”, join one of the weekly weigh ins.

You don't mention if you are following a weight loss plan or just being mindful. If you need any support just shout. Write a post as opposed to answering one where you may not be seen. There's always someone here.

Amazing transformation, have you tried IF (Intermitant Fasting). I hit a plateau every stone I lost. Maybe try instead of doing HIIT and weight training do some low intensity stuff (cardio, walking etc) and your body might be thinking what's going on here. Good luck

Edit never mind, just re-read your post looks like your already doing IF.

Congratulations on your loss so far, it is not easy, I lost 2st down to 15 10. The hardest thing is maintaining, I find since there are no clubs, we used to do short mat bowling, table tennis. I can not walk miles, but I try to walk 2mls every two days. Food is very easy to get hold of, but I try to vary what I eat, but at the minute I am struggling. All the hours in the house, at the minute I am fasting as much as I can. For me this means eating breakfast late and maybe waiting for dinner no lunch. I do eat quite a lot of fruit and veg. Recently I have been copying unusual recipes. That is my obsession at the moment. when I was in S.W. they told me not to worry about slip ups, draw a line under bad days. Good luck, but give yourself a break, you have done really well.
