Hello - help?

Hi, I am new here. I'm joining because I'm a 25-year old Mum with a BMI of 33.5 - Obese. I need to lose weight (obviously) and I want to be a good role model for my daughter. I have tried everything - watching what I eat, slimming world, personal trainer, gym membership, paleo diet, lean in 15... etc. I feel desperate and useless but I just can't seem to get anything to click. I always go back to my old habits. I have 100 excuses - the main ones being money, my job & my daughter - and I always seem to let my "I can't/won't do this" voice win. Please help me because I just don't know what to do..

Hi and welcome, Lottiegetslittle :)

You've come to the right place, as many of us have found ourselves in a similar situation, but have found that the mutual support of this community has changed our thought processes.

I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link

I hope we'll see you there :)

You do t have to make excuses any more. This is free. Just eat healthy and look forward to the weight coming off. It will fuel you to keep going. Just give it 30 days and you will see. It's now or never.

Hi and welcome

You have come to this fantastic supportive forum - the one thing I have to say is forget the word diet, and start to make healthy eating your new way of life :)

I have also done numerous diet plans etc and always put it back on - since joining here I have lost and managed to maintain my loss for a wee while before losing a bit more - this is a slow process but the best way to keep it off :)

No more excuses, Lottie :) You need to do this for you and for your daughter. That's what I tell myself anyway.

We can do this together and this forum is so supportive. You have come to the right place.

Hi there, I had a very similar problem of trying all weight losses and not losing weight. I then found out I was trying too hard to lose weight and not eating enough calories to start with so my body thought I was starving it so turned what I did eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories would so it stops me from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. Make sure you check out the NHS bmi calculator to find out how many calories you should eat between and make sure you always keep an eye on this because as you lose weight the calorie amounts do sometimes drop too. Eat the higher amount so you can drop the amounts until you find the right amounts to lose weight but if you start at the bottom amount you can't drop any further. Good luck with your journey.
