Another newbie

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself - I've actually been lurking around for a while (as creepy as that sounds), but just never joined. Now I've actually put weight on in the last week, I decided to join up/in properly to give me a kick. in 3 weeks I've lost 2.2lbs (that's with a .6lb gain last week)

I've read the newbie post - very informative! I would really love to get involved in the C25K, which I have before and I LOVED running/jogging, I actually managed to lose about 11lbs in 1 month doing it. But I then had to stop as that lead me to discovering that I have compartment syndrome in my calves... The only way to correct it is surgery - which I'm not entirely sure I want to go down that route at the moment. So as much as it pains me, running is off of the list at the moment.

I do have swimming membership - but now the weather is good and summer holidays have started, I'm avoiding it, it's packed, and adult only swim slots are not honoured either...

I do have an indoor bike. Even though it is possibly the most boring thing ever, I'm starting myself on 20 mins a day/every other day (dependant on schedule and mood. 4 days a week is my minimum allowance) and doing a little 7 min HIIT circuit I found on that Shealth app - short, but it kills!! And involves planking - like the hardest thing in the world (my record is 10 seconds, with bad form!)

Shall definitely be joining the weekly weigh in on Mondays - so hope to report a loss!

I have done all my BMI stuff, which horrendously puts me in the obese category... Which, to look at me - I definitely am not.

At 5ft6 and weighing 205.4lbs, my BMI sits at 33.3!!! So I'm thinking of aiming for 1700 calories a day (NHS thingy says 1787, but the odd number annoys me, so I rounded it down)

I do have a holiday in a couple of months, which (like almost everyone) I am dying to drop 2 dress sizes for (currently and 18, so would love to be a 14 - as I have multiple pieces of clothing that I bought in that size that I have slim down to), which I've read is about 10-14lbs a dress size? so I need a further 26lbs in 2 months gone.

Recently gone through a break up, which over the 4.5 years, plus a broken ankle in between, I gained a lot of weight and became a completely broken person.

I used to stick at the same weight for years, till I broke my ankle - nearly 2 years ago now - and my metabolism just seemed to plummet and I ended up gaining weight and a dress size (2 years ago is way too long to be making excuses for now!)

So now I'm on one of those "I'll loose a ton of weight, then next time you see me, you'll be like dang, she looks good". I actually hope I never see him again, but if I do, I want to be prepared with a slimmer figure and better attitude and self-esteem!

I shall stop rambling! I love all the support and comments from people on here given to other people and I fall off the wagon more often than not when life likes to slap a wet fish across your face, so I'm sure I'll be hanging around, reading and posting! Ta-ra!
