I am a 22 year old female waiting for a start date as a PC however have for the last two years been working in the control room. This has meant I spend 9 hours on a six day shift pattern tethered to a desk dealing with highly stressful incidents. I'm hoping that today will be a turning point, saying good bye to the 0300am macdonalds run and hello to a new healthier fitter and happier me.
Less than 2 years ago I played netball regionally and was easily doing something active everyday of the week but since being in the control room and doing shifts this has prevented me from taking part in such activities. I hope that this is going to be the start of me getting back into the things I love. 💪🏼👊🏼 wish me luck 💫🌙

Shifts are always a pain! I was a care assistant in a nursing home and never knew whether I was coming or going. It's funny that now I've got a job where I'm chained to a desk I'm actually healthier than I was when I was always on my feet.
Congratulations on starting (hopefully soon!) as PC.
Congratulations on being accepted as a police officer, I hope you won't have to wait too long for a start date. I have no doubt you'll enjoy the life you're about to start albeit stressful and demanding, it's a fulfilling career and and the camaraderie is great...I had 30 years in the job.
