I've mainly kept to 1400 calories per day, slipped a bit yesterday and went 200 over. Lost 3/4 of a pound. Today I am having mushroom omelette for breakfast, cheese and lettuce sandwich for lunch and chicken, salad and boiled new potatoes for tea. Pears and strawberries to snack on. I just need to keep going because my problem is I always start well but give up a few weeks in.

Only 200 over, I'd not worry about if it's a one off.

You have your food plan for today and it looks good. You will do it you are on the right tracks. ☺

It looks to me like you may need to actually eat more calories then. If you slipped, ate 200 more and lost weight it looks like your not eating enough. It may seem strange to you but check your calories on the NHS bmi calculator as this gives personal amounts for each person while the others only give average amounts. If you don't eat enough calories your body thinks your starving it and turns what your eating into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. I never lost weight for years and often put weight on and could never understand why and this was because I wasn't eating enough. Good luck with your journey.

Dont worry too much if you go over on odd days. Look at the average amount over a week. You need to reduce your pre diet intake by 3500 cals a week to lose a pound of fat per week. So whether its a bit each day or just over 5days in 7, it doesnt matter too much. In fact , many people set their daily quota to fit around weekends . eg 1400 on 5 days, 1600 at weekends or whatever is right for you to still lose a 1 lb a week.

Not what you're looking for?
