Hi

Joined one week ago today and have lost 1.6kg that is despite a chronic back pain so unable to exercise, only short walks. Really feel focused for the first time in years and I would like to thank you all for your encouragement. Xx

Well done Necklacegirl ! Keep up with the focus. If you manage your plate well, you'll need minimal excercise. However, Walking is good and works the whole body and definitely uplifts moods. All the best!

Well done, Necklacegirl, that's a fantastic start! :)

Have you considered joining our Monday weigh-in, for extra support?

Well done, that's a great start!

Losing weight is entirely possible without doing an ounce of exercise! Just take a look at some of my early posts on my profile:

Your back - whatever the cause of your chronic pain, will benefit hugely from the weight loss - I know my aches and pains have subsided. But losing 4.5 stone, it's not really surprising! I think of each half a stone as a newborn baby, and I was carrying 9 newborn babies around with me....

Hi Pineapple I have just read all links that you sent me. Wow you are so inspirational. I know exactly what you mean about getting older, bad enough, without added complications of age related illnesses. I will be 60 next year and have enjoyed really good health (I have good genes). I would feel so bad if I brought an illness on myself just for the sake of food.

Keep up the good work - I will read your stories any time I feel wobbly. Thanks again.

Thanks - 9 babies when you put it like that - no wonder my back is sore! This back ache, awful as it is, was a reality check - I didn't really even want to go to gp but did eventually - it has given me a peek into the future and what is in store if I don't make changes. Thanks again for your response and will read your earlier entries this evening.

That's a great first week's loss, congratulations! :)

Don't worry about major exercise, I think with back pain just keeping moving is a win! :D

My advice would be to see a good physio, get to the root cause of your back pain and do the exercises the physiotherapy gives you. Having been there and done that (although it can take some time), I can guarantee it works. Good luck!
