Hello Lisa and welcome.
Big congratulations on your weight loss so far, very impressive.
Different people here are following different paths to weight loss but for me I lost weight' (just reached my goal ), using the NHS 12 week plan. It doesn't mean you lose it all in 12 weeks but it forms a change of lifestyle that hopefully you can continue once you have reached your goal. If you haven't seen it before, you can find it here...

The main reason I've done so well is because I came here to this forum with all its amazing support. Historically, I've habitually failed at losing weight so this is my first 'success'. The weekly weigh-ins here, the continual support, whether I'm up or down, the various challenges and the camaraderie.
There is a Daily Diary, where we post our menu for the following day. It helps us stick to it but also gives us so many more ideas as to how we can add variety and pep up our meals. Yesterday, I added peanut butter to my porridge for the first time. Turned out to be a great idea, it made it all so much richer and creamier and just for a little under 100 extra cals. You can find today's DD here...

I've already stepped on the administrator's toes too much. They will shortly tell you a lot of that and more. Just feeling quite euphoric this morning after working my way through a stressy week
All the best to you.
Hello Lisamatt and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum
Very well done on losing over a stone so far! That's an excellent achievement 😊
Here are a few suggestions on how to get the most out of the forum. Please note if you are using the new HU App many of these features are not available so I suggest you use the full website version.
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for ☺
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day, as well as a new Daily Diary, if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page ☺
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you usually have a 'Newbie' badge, but you have a one stone badge to reflect your success so far 😊
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too. If you have any questions please just ask ☺
Best wishes
Anna
Well done on your weight loss so far Lisa. I am also doing Slimming World and got my husband on it as well. Just keep going, if you are a bit stuck go back over your books, or ask your leader for help.l
Best of Luck xx
Welcome to the forum. I am losing weight for my wedding despite the fact that my fiancé and I haven't set a date for our wedding yet. I am currently following Slimming World but weighing in at my mum's house instead of going to the meetings because I am in the process of moving and saving for my wedding. I have lost 7 1/2lbs in the last 5 weeks. I love the forum and I appreciate the support that I get from other forum members as well as family and friends.
Hi and welcome
I no longer follow a diet as such, I count calories, no food is banned, but I'm making healthy choices, I do still have treats and love the freedom of being able to relax and enjoy my food. This forum is a wonderful place for support, help and motivation, it's with their advice and encouragement that I've lost 3 stone
I also don't exercise (I hate exercise) but I'm having fun cycling, walking, swimming, kettle works and my granddaughters favourite kitchen disco (dancing)
I have set goals but with no time limit to get to them, I'm doing this slowly as I'm changing bad habits of a life time.
I hope you enjoy your journey as much as I'm enjoying mine
Good luck
Kat xx
Hello and welcome,I like katmt, I think the great joy of counting calories is it makes so much sense, tho not all calories are equal, odd or mad, both in fact.
Whilst I've never done slimming world the idea of not counting or portioning seems a bit mad, after all the average portion of protein is 100g, not much more you need, pack out with veg and some carbs, I find that I can't eat excessive amounts of carbs, and still check things like cals on bread rolls.
I'm just post menopasal so those carb portions matter, look for recipes with counted cals and aim for your daily calorie allowance, that way you know what you are dealing with.
personally I like my life planned I find it easier
