I'm new on this forum but I've been trying to lose weight for years without much success so hopefully being here will help recreate the motivation that's been lost over time.
I have a mega sweet tooth and I hate exercise so I find it incredibly difficult to get my bum off the sofa and find an exercise that I enjoy and to have will power and say no to that chocolate bar.
I'm 23 yo, 5ft 6" and 14stone 11lbs. This is the heaviest I've ever been and it's really knocking my confidence and self-esteem but finding that will power is letting me down. Only 3 years ago I was 11stone and I want to try to get back to that weight.
Do you have any tips for healthy lifestyle changes that may help? Does anyone have any fun exercises I can do to motivate me to get home from work and move my lazy butt even when I want to use the 'but I'm too tired excuse'?

You have come to the right place for help and support. I joined up in August and so far I have lost a stone so I am really happy!
Take a look at the pinned post section which we have on the right hand side of the screen. (If you are on your mobile, it will appear at the bottom.) You will find a post there for Newbies which is full of super helpful advice!
Most or many people on here are following the nhs weight loss plan which is brilliant and works. I won't overload you with info, but give you time to 'settle in' and look around the site.
I am sure people will soon be along to give you more advice about exercise. Personally I don't have an exercise regime as such as I know I wouldn't keep it up, but I aim to go for an hour long swim at least every 10 days or so, which I really enjoy. I also walk everywhere at a good brisk pace, and that along with sensible healthy eating has done the trick!
I wish you all the very best on your weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey!
They say Rome wasn't built in a day and the same is true of weight loss, it takes time to adjust to a new way of eating and exercising, so he kind to yourself and be patient π
You have some good suggestions above so take time to read the links and organise a healthy eating plan π Then start gentle exercise, just a 15 minute walk twice a day is an excellent start, maybe on your way to work?
The biggest thing is getting your head around the changes you need to make to make it sustainable π Having belief that you can and will succeed π Good luck
Welcome you are going to find this site super supportive. You have been given great direction by others. Be gentle with yourself and positive. Do add so,e extra exercise maybe swimming before you get home from work. Put a pot of soup on in the crock and have it ready to come home to, low cal veggie would be one of the best. The site has some recipes. People are here night and day just post and someone will respond, best of luck on your new voyage.
One thing you could do, exercise-wise, is try to add in extra movement when you do things at home. For example, a friend of mine has music on when she is brushing her teeth or boiling the kettle, waiting for the microwave to ping, something to cook on the stove, and dances whilst she brushes or waits for the boiling, pinging, cooking to be complete. If you are watching television, get up during the adverts and walk up and down the stairs - just once an advert will make a difference, but more times will make more of a difference. I'm sure there are lots of things in your routine you could give added calorie-burning value to if you think about them.
Good tip. I have been doing something similar; if I have different things that need taking up or downstairs,I take them in two or three trips, like with taking washing/ ironing up or down, used cups from the bedroom, etc
I found a water aerobics class, and another class that looks interesting with beating on drums...I have to go at my own pace but it is fun.....Take up photography and go out for a walk and take pictures..Just a suggestion or find someone in your area that wants a support friend and you can maybe do it together??? Love and hugs
