Without know the exact details of what you are eating it's difficult to say jayneAmanda butbincan feel your frustration 😕 It could be several things, most likely that you are not eating enough. Hi, Breakfast is a slimfast milkshake, snack is a piece of fruit usually a plum, lunch is another slimfast shake, snack is a piece of fruit and then my salad,, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, 1 egg, small bit of grated cheese, with fish, chicken or ham, drinking plenty of water, around 6 pints.

My medical condition is called charcot-marie tooth, its a motor sensory condition, so muscles are weak and in pain most days, on medication for it. I had ankle surgury in 2014 and still suffer with dropped foot and pain. So mobility is minimal, my legs and arms are quite thin its around my torso that the weight lies and this is putting presure on my hips, causing alot of pain in them. I also had a hystorectomy in 2008 with complications whilst healing resulting in a hernia repair surgury,

I hate the way i am at the moment, i was a size 10 when i got married in 88. And have had 2 kids. Now in their 20's. I went up to a 12 after having my ladt child, but since gone up to a 16 or sometimes depends on clothes 18. This is not me i dont feel one bit comfortable with this. And dont want to socialise this is putting pressure on my marriage too. Its not my husbands its me and the way i feel.

Hi from what you have said I don't think you are eating enough. If you don't your body will go into starvation mode and will hold on to any calories thus lowering your metabolism. It's a vicious circle. Diets don't work. Healthy eating does.

You need to work out your BM1 and follow the calorie recommendations required. Eating more and regularly will help you to shift the weight. The info is in the pinned posts and I'm sure others will be along very shortly to give you more advice.

You only joined us 6 day so ago, JayneAmanda. If you have started a new regime, it can take a bit longer sometimes to start to see results. Are you calorie counting/ doing SW or WW? Are you eating healthily? And are you watching portion size? Tell us a bit more about yourself, as Anna says, and there are loads of us on here who can help with advice.

My personal advice is nothing good comes easy in this world, and if you really want something you have to work at it. It's worth it in the end. You are worth it! So use the forum to get as much help as you can.

When I first joined I wasn't losing weight either and when I mentioned it on here I found out that if I wasn't eating the amount of calories mentioned on the NHS bmi calculator for you to lose weight then you wouldn't lose weight because the body thinks that you are starving it and then turns what you do eat into body fat instead and this weighs more than the extra calories does. This means that you don't lose weight and sometimes put weight on. Don't make this same mistake and make sure that you check your calorie intake for you to lose weight on NHS bmi calculator and as long as you eat somewhere in between the two amounts it gives you to eat to lose weight you should be fine. I upped my calories to the amount it said and started losing weight and have now lost 2st. Good luck with your journey.
