Hi everyone, i`m new too this site. I would really love to lose weight but i seem to have lost my way. I use to go to slimming world, i lost weight the first time around, but the second time i seemed to be totally lost i couldn't get my head around it so i gave up, my other problem is that at the moment i can`t exercise. I do really need to lose weight as i`m having a knee replacement soon and i was advised to lose the weight especially once i have my new knee.
Losing battle: Hi everyone, i`m new too... - Weight Loss Support
Losing battle
I lost my weight (eventually) after trying the various slimming clubs - lost it and then regained plus extra.... by logging everything I eat, calorie counting.
It is tedious, but after a while it becomes second nature and isn't too difficult if you use an app like myfitnesspal.com or similar: theguardian.com/technology/...
The really good thing about logging and weighing out food is that it educates you about the calories in various food stuffs as well as enabling you to reduce portion sizes to "recommended" levels.
The good news is that exercise isn't essential for weight loss. I lost 4 and a half stone (started 5 years ago at the age of 49!) and because of my disability, find exercise virtually impossible.
These are some of my past posts when I shared more about my weight loss success. Hope you find them useful!
Hi and welcome, kimbenson
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
