A warm hello to all of you. My name is Dan or Danny, which ever you prefer.
I am 26 and am from Leicestershire. I have several medical conditions that have reduced my mobility and gain weight from the medication. In the last year alone I had put on over 6 stone.
I used to be very active but now struggle to walk far due to my conditions.
However I am fed up of putting weight on and decided to weigh myself 2 weeks ago..... 24 stone 1Ib
I was mortified I knew I was fat but not that fat. So 2 weeks ago I joined Slimming World. I had my first week weigh in on Thursday and have lost 4Ib. So I've been sticking to the plan this week so hopefully I have another good week.
Thanks,
Danny

Welcome Danny. I wish you ever success I'm sure you'll do it. This forum is really useful and the people really friendly. I've just starting my 5th week on the plan and I'm finding it really helps
Thank you for taking the time to comment and thank you for your kind words. I certainly will use this platform to help me. Great work too! All the best.
Hi Danny, welcome! Within the next few weeks you will start to feel a lot better. I weighed 23 stone in September and have now almost 5 1/2 stone. You can do it too! Keep going and don't give up, it's worth it. I still have a long way to go but aches and pains are better, I can run up the stairs. I can walk round a city all day without needing a rest. I am going on a plane in a week for first time since October - I can't wait to not have to worry I will need an extension belt. I wish you luck, keep posting as the forum can really help!! 🤞
Wow amazing results! Well done for your success. I am really looking forward to reaping the benefits of loosing the weight. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. You are an inspiration. I wish you all the best and hope you have a lovely time too. thank you

I topped out at just on your weight quite awhile ago and struggled to get it off.
I was also very depressed and relying on antidepressants to try and fix that but they weren't working very well. I started take magnesium and within a few weeks felt my mood lift remarkable.
Once my mood started to stabilise and lift weight loss became so much easier.
Its a fantastic group here and you will always get heaps of support.
I'm really interested in how the magnesium helped you, so I will definitely look into that. Sounds like it's been journey for you but the benefits are worth it. Well done and thanks for commenting 😊
Hi Dan, well done you for loosing in your first week. I did SW few years ago and lost 5 stone but have since put on about 2 back on, I am too back at SW and you really can loose that weight if you stick to plan. If you fall off any time just don't give up, get back as as you can, try start of with some walking if you can so that you are doing some excercise and you will reach your goal eventually. Good Luck :).
Thank you for your kind words. Wow what an amazing achievement. I'm glad your back on it with slimming world. I'm hoping to stick to it and any hurdles I get, I'm going to keep going.
