Hi I'm new here decided to join as I can't seem to stick to anything. Thought maybe communicating with others might help I need to loose 7stone and it feels unachievable at the moment x

Hello Time2change and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺ I have been where you are now and promise you that weight loss is possible ☺ I wish I had a magic wand to make it easier but I don't, but this forum has been a massive help ☺

The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for ☺

Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page ☺

You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

Best wishes

Anna

Hi I have just completed my first week of the 12 week plan and also the first week of the couch to 5km running plan so nothing is unachievable :)

You take one step at a time and one day at a time, if you fall off the wagon you get straight back on. We are here if you need support, guidance or just to vent frustrations or share in your small /big victories.

Welcome to the group

Hi again,

In the 12 week NHS plan there are diaries there too, just need to print them out. I use a notebook and pen during the day and then update to an excel file to keep track on my daily calorie amount.

Here is a link to the 12 week lose weight plan

Here is the link to the couch to 5km running plan. I start week 2 run 1 tomorrow :)

I also beleive that there comes a time when we are ready to do this. All the failed earlier attempts prove this fact. Some how I am mentally prepared to take this journey this time.

Good luck to you and give me a shout if you need some support

Hi Time2change

I too have 7st to loose, and have tried many times to loose it. Once you get started on this forum and take notice of the advice offered it really does make a difference. The end of last year I had been doing well with the support here but I let family commitments take over and stopped and put on 2.5 stones. Stick with it, make even 1/4 hr a day to log on and be uplifted.

We have a long babysitting day tomorrow and it would have been a takeaway on the way home. In my fridge now is a chicken curry with some mixed veg in it and a portion of rice already to "nuke" when we get in and that will mean going to bed feeling very self satisfied instead of guilty 🙌
