The scales is not mobing neither up neither down. I have installed a new app which i love called fitbit. It gave me an estimate of 1200 cal if i want to drop 0,3 kg a week which i thought is doable, but no progress yet. I might be calculating wrong my calories. I am doing fitness pilates twice a week and also another session or 2 at home grom youtube. I would like to start running as well but usually have to push a pram in the process which is slightly more difficult, but aiming for once or twice a week if the weather gets warmer. I have reduced sugar, carbs no pasta for me, ocassionaly will have a toast in the morning or home made pancakes. I am also breastfeeding my 2y old so i am suspecting hormones play a role in my strugle to lose the weight.

Weight loss on dead point
Have you looked in the NHS website at the bmi calculator and found out what your calorie intake should actually be. When I first joined and with every diet I used to do I found out on here I was never eating enough calories, because I ate less all the time thinking it would assist me quicker. I never lost anything at these times. When I started eating the amount within my bmi index I gradually started to lose weight for the first time. I still find it strange now, eat more and start losing weight. Make sure you do check your bmi. If you are within your bmi I can only suggest moving the amount slightly to see if it helps.
Hello stefania1 and welcome to the weight loss forum ☺
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. I agree with HubbysMissMouse about the importance of eating enough, especially as you are breastfeeding 😕 i really dont think 1200 calories sounds like enough. I am tagging Hidden as she has more recent experience than me in this regard.
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day, but they are quite busy. If you wish to take part Sunday is the quietest day but you are welcome to join any day. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the 'home' page, or at the very bottom (after all the posts) on a mobile.☺
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺
Best wishes
Anna
Hi stefania1 ,
I would imagine as your son is 2, that you aren't really burning that many calories from breastfeeding. It is quite different from feeding a newborn exclusively round the clock.
Breastfeeding burns around 10 calories every 5 mins, so you can work out what deficit you may have, depending on how often you feed.
That said, 1,200 kcal is just a generic amount given by this app - you need to follow the advice given by Anna and stick to your own personal allowance. Strangely enough, if you eat too little, your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose weight.
Hope this helps. Good luck ☘
Thank you i find it harder 2nd time around. I am the category that doesn't loose the weight as fast while breastfeeding this time. When i had my daughter 4 years ago the weight just went off itself without any hardwork. Well its hard to calculate for a 2 years old but i believe around 200 kcal as an estimate is close enough. He goes as often as 5-6 times even during the night but obviously not the same amount of milk as for a newborn. Thanks for your reply.
We lose more weight quickly in the first few months if the baby is exclusively breastfed and not yet on solids, as you can bank around 500-750 kcal per day.
Once one starts introducing solids or you top up with formula, the amount of calories you burn will be significantly reduced.
Breastfeeding also makes you very hungry, so make sure you fill up on healthy long lasting foods and stay with your allowance.
This might help too.
