Last year when I first joined the forum I wrote how an unkind remark can actually spur us on to lose weight We were at a neighbours for dinner one evening when the conversation got round to pets I said we were thinking about getting a dog This neighbour without hesitation said" Oh that will be great you can lose your weight by walking it "I was so hurt as I had never mentioned my weight
Well this afternoon as we pulled up the drive she called over and came to chat and said "Looks like you have lost loads of weight you look fantastic I wish I could lose it "I can honestly say hand on heart she is bigger than me
I feel brilliant this evening as she is very blunt and wouldn't have said it if she didn't think it

I think I remember your original post and thinking how rude that comment was, so well done for turning it into a positive and also well done to your neighbour, she's proved she's not just mean mouthed by being able to give nice complimantry comments too!
Well done on turning a negative into a positive. She probably didn't mean to offend.. as she has noticed you loss and complimented you on your success. Well done on both counts... Actions speak louder than words... ๐
I feel your pain, in the last fortnight I had three people be "brutally honest" about my weight, gutted, I have to say I was extremely upset, on the plus side close family member really supporting and encouraging me, even exercising with me. Determined to succeed.๐ค
What is the matter with people that they think it's ok to say what they like Im so sorry you had that upset The only time I would ever comment about someone's weight was if they asked me to be really honest and wanted my opinion even then I would find that very hard to do My son suffered from bulimia when he was younger so I know the harm it can do too
Glad you have a lovely supportive family that's really great
I guess we have to pity these people who don't know how to be kind
My neighbour then made a silly joke about me having to use a wheelchair at the moment so I'm glad I'm not her ๐ฎ
